Hey everyone,

Need 5 new owners for long-standing ultra competitive keeper league. Had some turnover this year and 5 spots opened up. We use OPS instead of AVG, but otherwise it's a standard 5x5 H2H. Draft is this Sunday at 8pm ET.

Rosters of best available keepers are listed below, as well as the league rules and keeper settings. Please read through all before requesting invite. Please note that you must have an extensive Yahoo! fantasy history for your spot to be guaranteed.

LEAGUE RULES:

RULE 1:
All owners must remain active for the entire season. (Shouldn't be a problem considering it is a paid keeper league). Owners must respond to trade proposals in a timely manner. If I hear that a trade proposal automatically canceled itself out because the owner did not approve, reject, counter within the 10-day period, their team will go into "lockdown" until I can find a replacement owner. Their league fee will not be refunded. In order for this league to be successful, each owner must maintain a certain level of activity throughout the year. That includes league-wide votes. Should any owner be unavailable for any significant period of time (over one week), it is their responsibility to inform the league of their absence and I will have no problem taking care of their lineup adjustments if said owner is unable to access the internet during their absence.

RULE 2:
Any owners suspected of cheating (collusion, multiple teams, etc.) will immediately be reviewed by the league commissioner. If an owner is found guilty of cheating, their team will go into "lockdown" until I can find a replacement owner. Their league fee will not be refunded. PERIOD.

RULE 3:
This is fantasy baseball and trash talk is certainly part of the fun. However, personal attacks will not be tolerated. Keep it to a PG-13 level and be respectful of the other owners in the league. If you find a trade proposal offensive, simply reject it. No need to blast someone's personal life because of it. First time, I'll issue a warning...second time, your team will go into "lockdown" until I can find a replacement owner. Your league fee will not be refunded. Keep it civil everyone and this league will become one of the most fun and competitive you have ever been in.

RULE 4 (Start Limits/transaction limits):
12-start weekly limit. First penalty for exceeding the weekly limit is the loss of one keeper for the next season. If it happens twice, we will consider removal of that owner. There is a transaction limit of 70 moves per season.

RULE 5:
Most league changes must be approved by the league. This is completely reliant on each owner casting their vote through the message board in a timely fashion. Absence of someone's vote in a timely manner will result in their vote not being count and the majority will rule. I know we're all busy and have other things going on in our life, but it is not too much to ask to check the league page at least every other day for updates. Some rule changes that are blatantly for the good of the league, I will consider making myself if there are no objections. If there is an objection, we will hold a vote.

RULE 6:
Consolation bracket winner will get the first overall pick in next year’s draft. Runner up will get the 2nd pick, 3rd place gets the 3rd pick and so on.

RULE 7:
Players on the roster at the completion of each year can be dealt throughout the year. However, any player traded for MUST be kept the following season (see keeper rules below for specifics on keeper eligible players).

RULE 8:
Have fun guys. Try not to take it too seriously and enjoy the competitive atmosphere. This is not the first league I have run and it won't be the last. From previous experience, an active league is always a competitive and fun league. Let's have a great season

KEEPER RULES:

This is a keeper league, and as such, we will need to outline the rules regarding keepers.

1. We employ a deep roster for a reason, but I want sufficient roster turn-over from year-to-year. We each have 24-man rosters with two DL slots. I am only going to allow 7 keepers per team, per year. Keepers must be submitted one week prior to the draft.

2. Players drafted in the first five rounds are not eligible to be kept, even if they are dropped. (I would like to think that this league will encourage it's owners to use their head a little bit when making roster decisions. Not just deciding to keep the best players on their team, but rather the best values on their team).

3. Players drafted in rounds 6 - 15 will cost that owner a pick two rounds higher in next season's draft, should they choose to keep that player. Players drafted in rounds 16 - 24 will only cost one pick higher in next season's draft.

4. Any player who is dropped and then claimed off waivers can be kept 4 rounds earlier than where they were drafted this season. If that player passes through waivers unclaimed and is picked up, they will count as a 24th round pick next year. As will any player who was not drafted this season and is picked up off waivers. If you decide to keep more than one waiver-wire pickup, or two players from the same draft round, those players will be assigned a draft value in the order of the previous year's Yahoo! rankings. (Ex. If you keep 2 players off the waiver-wire. Player A with a Yahoo! ranking of 100 and Player B with a Yahoo! ranking or 99. Player A will count as your 24th pick and Player B will count as your 23rd pick).

5. INJURY/SUSPENSION ISSUES:Players placed on the DL can be picked up and kept for next season. That is, unless they had been ruled out for the season at some point during the year. Aka..If for some reason Felix Hernandez blows out his shoulder during the year and was keeper-eligible prior to the injury, he can be dropped without the worry that another owner can pick him up off the waiver-wire with the intent to use him as their 24th-round pick next season. We need to protect the integrity of the keeper system, and I feel that this is the best way to do that. If you are unsure whether a player is out for the year, hold onto him until you hear definitively from that player's team or local news source. Save the article and send it to me as proof that your intention was to drop a player who is out for the season.

If a player has been suspended for what is considered to be the rest of the season (this will include players who are suspended and come back with just a few games left), those players cannot be picked up and kept. If the players has been suspended for less than 75% of his remaining games, he CAN be picked up and CAN be kept for next season at the discounted rate, should that player's original draft status make him eligible to do so (players drafted outside the top 5 rounds).

If a situation arrises where an owner is unsure about the status of a particular player, the situation must be brought to the league before any judgment will take place on that player's keeper eligibility. The NA slots will help with this, as those suspended players can simply be dropped into one of the 2 NA slots that we have added this season.

Using up a roster spot on an injured or suspended player is a tough thing to do because it limits your ability to make some roster adjustments. My opinion on this issue is as follows: I don't care, lol. The whole point of this league is to promote out-of-the-box thinking and strategic planning. If that amount of thinking makes your head hurt, or frustrates you, you should not be in this league. One thing I will say is that if a player who was ruled out for the season returns from an injury early or from a suspension appeal that allows them to return earlier than expected after being dropped, that player cannot be kept.

6. AUGUST 31st DEADLINE: Any player who is dropped after August 31st is not eligible to be kept for next season. Any player who was on the waiver wire as of August 31st may be kept, and normal keeper rules apply. I want to give teams an opportunity to rid themselves of players they have no use for or are underperforming, but are still too valuable to make them 24th rounders for someone else next season. This also gives teams the ability to free up some roster space to capitalize on the September call-ups. It is a keeper league, so the emphasis should be on the long-term perspective when planning for the future.
