What would make more sense? Using draft tracker for a points league, or pulling all projections and going Value Based Drafting and following that? It seems like when I mock draft using draft tracker, I am always towards the last to draft/fill up pitching staff. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Is the trouble that hitters are much more valuable than pitchers, and you're looking for a way to equalize the two? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
That is exactly the problem. Outside of Kershaw, the rest of the pitchers are ranked outside the Top 40 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Try doing mock drafts with the tracker sorted by POSV for point leagues. I think it works pretty well. If the pitchers aren't worth taking, then keep filling your active offensive positions until they are. and if you can... draft Kershaw? :) 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Is there a reason why the dynV isn't available in draft tracker when the league is a points league? From what I understood in basketball, that took into account various factors as to whom was taking what players/positions and adjusted rankings accordingly. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
If I remember correctly, there is no DynV because there is only one stat. Points. :) 0% Agree (0 votes) |
So does the posV update based on what has been taken? Does it taken into account starting positions? Once those positions have been filled, does it reduce the value of said position? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
PosV compares all players at a single position independent of the active roster spots or which players have been selected. It's intended to highlight the scarcity of each positions for your league. For drafting, it would be helpful to have a Dynamic PosV which adjusted as positions were selected and active roster spots were filled. I'll give this some thought and see what can be done. 100% Agree (3 votes) |
And yes, Dynamic Value does not make sense for points-based leagues since it measures the scarcity of remaining categories, and points leagues don't care about categories. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
A DynPositional Value in the draft tracker would be fantastic! 100% Agree (1 vote) |
Any idea if this is something that could be implemented soon? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Just to confirm before my points league draft: so Pos Value is exactly the same as VBD using a baseline of the average of each position? DynPosValue would be quite helpful by my evening draft :) 100% Agree (1 vote) |
@crucified - Yes, the PosV is calculated off the average at each position among your top players. @#37340 - I'm not completely sure what is involved in calculating this, but I will give it a look. 100% Agree (1 vote) |
Don't want to be a pain in the rear - but - is there any updates on this? I have one draft tonight and am still confused as to when to differ between pitchers/hitters during the draft. Going strictly by PosV is marginally beneficial because it values certain positions so much. Thanks for all your help! 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Going by PosV will likely cause you to draft some players too soon. The best bet is to use the DynV and then monitor the ADP to make sure you pick a player close to their normal. The DynPosV is going to take some work and is more likely to be incorporated next season. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Not sure what you are referring to with the best bet being DynV. I didn't think that was available for point leagues. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
You're correct, and it's simply Value in your case. 100% Agree (1 vote) |
No worries; I think there is still a lot of value to be had with these rankings. Thanks! 0% Agree (0 votes) |
