The DFS Projections are available here: https://baseballmonster.com/Daily.aspx Currently, eight providers are supported, and more will be added this week. Other notes: - The Odds and Weather information is currently blank, but this information should be added tomorrow.
- An Optimizer similar to Basketball Monster is being tested this week and will be available soon after.
- For almost all users, you will want to turn on the Baseball Monster Factors, or you won't get any adjustments based on park, matchup, etc.
- Currently, the factors are included in a single option, but these will be broken out in individual types.
- The CSV export format will change once we add more providers.
- If you use DraftDay or SportsTradex, their settings have changed so make sure to edit the DFS Settings and Use Defaults.

What do the blue checkmarks mean? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Once a lineup is verified, you'll see the checkmark next to the players name. If you don't see a checkmark, it's simply our assumed lineup for that day so it's best to make sure the lineups you play include only verified players when games begin.

Is the odds column going to be the odds that a game is played due to weather? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
The odds will be the betting odds from Las Vegas, It will give you show the favorite and over/under. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
OK understood. For the weather column, is it just gonna show a rain icon if there is rain? Or does it go into more detail than that? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
It will show temperature, % chance of rain, wind direction, and wind speed. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Hi Guys, really silly question but suing the DFS stats how do i work out projected Hits per player? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
If you'd like to display Hits as a column, you can enter a zero for the Hits category under DFS Settings. This way, the stat shows, but it has no effect on the player's value. 0% Agree (0 votes) |

Their prices have been updated. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
What do you think is the best way to set up the comparison column? Also, will there be more columns added like the basketball one or are the extra columns not needed in baseball? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
The other columns will be added in a week or so when they become more relevant. It currently doesn't have much use unless you want to see last season on a per-game basis. Starting in a few days, I'll likely set mine to current season per-game. 0% Agree (0 votes) |

So for weather, does the temperature and wind direction/speed factor into projections for all the players (I'm assuming wind blowing out good for hitters and warmer temp also good for hitters)? I also assume that the percent chance of rain won't affect the player projections (from a game being canceled perspective) but that they will update quickly once it is announced a game is announced to be postponed? Thanks, appreciate the help 0% Agree (0 votes) |
The weather information does not affect the projections, and is there for display purposes only. When a game is rained out, we remove the game and will add a note to the top of the projections page. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Question:
How reliable are the 'assumed lineups' ? Today's games are somewhat tricky because they have staggered start times and so players from later games may not be confirmed by kick (although I suppose it's possibility to build some flexibility into lineups). 0% Agree (0 votes) |
They're more reliable now than normal since most teams have named their opening day starters. For baseball, lineups usually come many hours before games start so typically most are set before the day's games begin. With DraftKings, you can always adjust your lineups if those games have not started too. The bigger issue tends to be choosing players that play later and end up having those games rained out. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Any way to "View Actual Results", for past days like on Basketball? 100% Agree (1 vote) |
Currently not, but that will be added shortly. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Anybody have any insight into whether Cameron Maybin will be with the team/playing tonight? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Good question, and we are assuming Young plays instead today. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
thanks for the quick turnaround. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
A few things adding rain % or more details about precipitation would be a good add to the weather section as it is one of the most important aspects. Also when constructing a lineup adding your lineup is invalid would be good just like basketball. I was playing around with a few lineups and it wasn't valid and didn't know until after the fact. Thanks. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Is there any way to change the start times to a specific time zone? Right now its on central and i would like to have it on eastern. If not it's no big deal. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
You can set your time zone under User Settings. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
If there's a chance for rain, you'll see a raindrop icon and the percent. Apparently, today is not a good example. The valid lineup feature will be needed for optimizer so that will be include when that's added. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Is it possible to include a little clock next to the player's name like on BBM when an update is made to a projection? 100% Agree (1 vote) |
Sure, we can add something simillar. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Curious on average what time can we expect the next days prices will be uploaded and available? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
It will vary based on the provider. Some are automated in advance like FanDuel, and some do not publish their next day prices until the night before. I would expect all to be updated by 10 Eastern the night before. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Would also be nice both here and on BBM to finally get an invalid lineup alert when you have 4 players from the same team on a FanDuel lineup. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Yes, we can include this too. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
When will the 2015 game logs be up? 0% Agree (0 votes) |

Yes, this should be added today. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
The 2015 game log is now the default on Player Info.

What does the green highlight mean on a player? I know the blue is for the verified lineup. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
It's showing the same thing. It stands out a little more. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Can you explain what CompV is? I've only used BasketballMonster, and that value isn't on there. Thanks! 0% Agree (0 votes) |
It's a Comparison Column which can show the following: - Player's avg value over the full season - Player's avg value over the past # of days - Player's avg value over the past # of games - And a few more options On the basketball site, we allow for 5 of these which is probably what you're used to. We'll be expanding baseball to 5 also and adding the Value Consistency column. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Ah, ok thanks. Are you planning on adding a lineup optimizer for baseballmonster? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Yes, that's being tested this week and will be deployed soon after. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
When do you expect the "View Actual Results" function will be available? 100% Agree (1 vote) |
It's been added for the other short-term pages so it's coming next. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
im just learning to play dfs baseball, but what im reading is that two of the most important stats are ISO and wOBA. Why isnt there any info in BBM with those stats? is there a way to calclutate them? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
No woba, can't see past slates... even the pitchers that have already pitched today are gone and can't find a way to see them in the charts again. When is this coming around? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
There's a new ActualV column which shows the real value for that day. You can also see the projection once the games are finished. I can look into adding a few other display columns such as wOBA and ISO. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
wOBA would be awesome. You guys rock 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Victiv's MLB games are up and running now. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
OK, thanks, we can get them added in the next week. 100% Agree (1 vote) |
Would it be possible to add a column showing a player's Ease Ranking to the DFS page? I currently don't see it as an option. Maybe its there and I am just missing it. Thanks. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Is there a way to keep the comparison column off? I turn it to none and save but it resets back on each time I make a new lineup. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
It should stay off for you now. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Hi, the DK salaries do not seem to have fed in correctly? Could you please update it so that all of the salaries are in there? Please let me know. Thank you. 0% Agree (0 votes) |

Optimizer this week? 0% Agree (0 votes) |

Also something that shows you have an illegal lineup would be great. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Yes, the invalid lineup notice will be part of the update, similar to basketball. I would say this weekend for everything.

Hey Ken, looking forward to big things with your daily tool. I wanted to point out that in most games, the W values for all pitchers within the game are adding up to over 1. Obviously, only 1 W will be awarded to a P in any given game. Win probability for pitchers is something really worth modeling perfectly, given how many points are awarded for the W on some sites and how it subsequently will affect projections in a big way. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
The wins total between the two starters should be balanced. Is that what you're comparing? For RP, since we don't know which will pitch, those players are all assumed to pitch (which won't happen). Therefore, the total wins (and other stats) will always be high.
0% Agree (0 votes) |
Thanks for that insight, I didn't know you were distributing the W probability of relievers with the chance of them not pitching. Even so, the combined win probability of the Starting P feels high. From this baseball reference post, I'm seeing that ~ 23.5% of games end with a double no-decision for starting pitchers. In the WAS-BOS game today, you have it projected as a 96% probability either Miley or Gonzalez gets a W. http://www.baseball-reference.com/blog/archives/10514 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Thanks for that, and I'll take a look. It does look like the total Wins is still a little high. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
When you update a player it would be good to see the + in green or the - in red to see what way you adjusted. Just the clock doesn't show us what way the have been updated unless you have been watching the board all day and can figure it out yourself. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Currently, it shows the icon when a lineup has been updated. I can add the value change like the basketball site at some point. 100% Agree (1 vote) |
I see it shows the icon where an update has occurred but does not show + or - that would be helpful. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Has a column for value consistency been added yet? I think that's one of the most valuable statistics the NBA monster offers and think it would really improve the mlb product 0% Agree (0 votes) |
One of the Comparison Column options for Value Type is Stdev (Standard Deviation). When selected, the higher the value, the higher the player variability. We can add a more intuitive Value Type called "Consistency" which shows a higher value when more consistent. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Hey guys, just joining DFS to dabble in Yahoo's offering. Is the optimizer mentioned here up and running? Couldn't find it. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
It should work the same as the others. Once you add a player, you should see the optimizer button. You're not seeing this? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Thanks, just came back to the forums to say I did find it. Is there any way to calc the optimal lineup, max total value for the budget (from scratch)? Anybody do this in Excel? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
We only allow optimizing the last 3 players. Many users export the projections using CSV and then Excel to optimize a lineup. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
I just got Excel, so good to know that. What is the oldest version of Excel that it accepts. With DFS Projections, it is nice that I can add a hunch player or two. Is there a way to eliminate a player or two so the optimizer will not select? Thanks. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
There's an existing to-do item that will allow users to exclude players using checkboxes. I believe this will solve your issue. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
