gotta say, i'm pretty devastated to see you won't be hosting your own projections this year. in year's past, i think i've relied on that more than any other tool in my belt. i hope you'll reconsider :)

in the meantime though, can you recommend a good projection system? or offer any insight into where yours came from in the past? zips, steamer, some other super cool projection algorhythm that i dont even know about?

thanks!

You can still use the tools if you import your own projections here:

This is really disappointing. BaseballMonster was a great site, but without its extensive projections across so many categories, I'm not sure what use I'd have for it. Hopefully you'll bring them back. In the meantime, I'll be looking for another site for this season.

If you import raw projections from most sources, typically all of the categories will be supported.

Ken, is there a projections source that you recommend? I'm bummed that you guys aren't doing your projections, and I don't know where to turn next for the best 2016 projections. Any recommendations?

The projections I've had the most luck with is the Special Blend from Mr Cheatsheet.   Luke also has a killer excel sheet that is a huge help for drafting

Can't seem to import those pitcher projections because there's no HR allowed column

It seems some do not provide HR allowed so i'll see if I can update the process to not require it.

Hey Maverick, were you able to import those special blend projections?

I imported projections and somehow have Jose Ramirez as 10th best AL SS. Do I need to delete the file to get rid of these projections and replace them with something else? Help!

Feel free to send me your CSV to make sure it's importing correctly: kslight@baseballmonster.com

Help needed. I imported my pitchers and it works fine. I imported my hitters in a different file and it says it imported successfully and my total imports went up.

However only my pitchers are showing up in projections and it is saying there are no results to display for hitters.

Can you try one more time since it will now send me your data?

When importing HOLDS, the values displayed on the projections arent the HOLD values sent on the csv but rather the Innings Pitched value on the csv.

I believe I've fixed the issue if you can try again.

Is this site about to die?  cry

Nope, it should be around for a while.  DFS projections are still being debated for this season, and if all goes well, the H2H/Roto memberships will return next year too.  There's just a lot changes I'd like to make to the site this season, and it made more sense to not make it a membership one for H2H/Roto.

When do you expect to make a decision regarding DFS for this season?

We'll be working on it this week and will know for sure next weekend. That should be a week before the season begins so hopefully soon enough for everyone.

If you guys bring back the DFS projections platform, I'll gladly purchase a membership.  Was extremely helpful last year.

Hey Mav, looks like Mr. Cheatsheet only has a roto and points league projections. Do you or anybody have a head to head recommendation?

I don't mind paying somebody like rotowire if they're easily downloadable from that site and uploadable here. But I've seen where others are having problems, and I'm not the most technically savvy person.

I can likely import any format you can download, either CSV or Excel. Just let me know if you need help.

Thank you so much. Other than the Excel files for hitters and pitchers, what info do you need in the email?

That should do it, and you can send it to kslight@baseballmonster.com.

KSlight, do we have a definitive answer if you will have DFS projections on daily basis for the 2016 season?

0% Agree (0 votes)
avatarken_admin  3/25/2016 10:10 AM

Yes, we are preparing the DFS projections now with the goal of having them ready for opening day. Ideally, they'll be available a few days before the season.

That's great news Kslight. So it will be the same as last year, where the are updated when starting LUs come out, etc.? Basically, the same as Basketballmonster right now? Thanks so much!!

Yes, same features, and we'll be adding many of the basketball enhancements too.

So disappointed in this decision. I've used you successfully for years. I'm all for improvement, but I'm sorry that the upgrades weren't being done in a way where we could have had normal service this year.

Has anyone used http://www.fantasypros.com/ for baseball?

I've used the site for Football, as there is no Football Monster, and have had pretty good success with it.

You should be able to import FantasyPro projections without modifications.

Could you provide instructions for doing so Ken, and what would be the advantage in it versus just using FantasyPros this year?

Yes, you can import them from the link given, or you can email the data files to me: kslight@baseballmonster.com

Once imported, you can use our projection/drafting tools though I'm sure theirs are good too.

Thanks you. I'll probably just use them this season, but I'll be back here next year for sure.
