How to identify who to pickup?

Last year I religiously used Baseball Monster updated projections to identify who to pick up during the course of the season.  Any alternatives someone can recommend now that BM doesn't have the projections feature?

I haven't found a good alternative yet.

I have been downloading and importing projections from fantasypros so far, and will try to find a better source.  Ken, would it be plausible to do projections each week for all users, just as an import from another site?

I've been importing the projections from Rotochamp, they are maintained all season.  Working well so far.

Just need that daily lineups page *cough* ken *cough*.  Come on!

Currently, the weekly and daily do not use custom projections.  This is fine for the daily page since we're producing daily projections. I'll see what I can do to extrapolate these for longer periods. It'll likely make some assumptions that are incorrect, but it may be a good estimate.

I know FantasyPros has weekly projections.  In theory it would just be a separate import right?

I just created a simple program that exports the season long FantasyPros hitter/pitcher projections, and imports them into BBM.  It definitely makes keeping the projections up to date signficantly easier/quicker.  I could try to make it more generic if it's something users are interested in.

I wrote it in Java and right now it's just a simple executable that has my BBM userrname and password hardcoded.  I will try to throw a GUI on it to take in the username and password.  It uses Selenium to export the latest from FantasyPros, logs into BBM, deletes custom projections, and imports the new ones.  I am running Windows and have the latest version of Java installed.  Should still work on other OS with prior versions of Java though.

When I use the program you created, are my "custom projections" supposed to show an update? I am not seeing an update after the program says it's done. 

Pretty bad ass once I can get it to work!

Yes, assuming everything ran correctly.  A good indicator is if the projection date changes in the projections screen.

Tried it, tomm0, but it doesn't seem to be working. After it says it's completed, there aren't any actual projections on BBM. It says (0) custom projections.

Can you download the updated version and try again?  I've been using every day since I posted without any problems, so hopefully the log will give me some insight as to what's going on for others.

Where (or how) do you find an exportable ranking?  I checked rotochamp but didn't see an option to export their rankings to a CSV file.  When I exported a CSV file for fantasypros - it had all the names as one (Bryce Harper) instead of last name, first name.

I made a blank excel sheet with all the headings (player_id, last_name, first_name etc.) and I'm hoping I don't have to go in and separate each name.  

Any help is appreciated!

I do. I opened it and noticed a line saying the file pathway (default downloads folder) was invalid. Realised I moved mine off C:\ due to partitioning a while back. So I made a new folder and it works well (projections today are dated 18/04 and i haven't manually updated them today). And the log file was empty afterwards so I'm assuming it worked?

I can undo it if you'd like to see the original log.

Ah yes sorry.  There is an assumption made that the projections get downloaded to the user\downloads directory.
