You can add an avatar image from your User Settings page.
How do i get it so the table display is clear. Currently it does a strange display where every player has a header row making it hard to read.
It adds a header for each # of players per team so if you adjust that under League Settings, it should fix it.
That was it. My league settings were configured for only one team.
