Should I accept this trade: My Prince Fielder, Aoki, Alex Gordon and Brandon League, for Mike Trout? Values seem to pan out but seems like a lot of players.
Chasing Trout to add to Miguel Cabrera, and have Werth, Ortiz and Berkman on bench. Covered at 1B with Fielder and Allen Craig.

I dont know what kind of league you are in - H2H, Rotis, or how many teams, but my first thought was that you are joking, and my second is: "He must be joking".
NO WAY!

Thanks. Rotisserie, 8 team.
Reason I am considering is I need SB and figure Trout is a tier or two value-wise above Fielder. I can replace Aoki with Werth, can replace Alex Gordon with a small downgrade, and a new closer should come available on wire to replace League. Kills depth but my starting lineup may be stronger, and I open up slots to stream pitchers or add high ceiling guys.

Why would you trade away Aoki if you need STL?
Put all the players you would pick up from the wire in the Trade Analysis alongside Trout and see if it likes it.
0% Agree (0 votes) |
Agree. Aoki and Gordon will easily steal as many bases as Trout, and Fielder will help you more in avg, HR, RBI than Trout. Also. Keep League until you build a comfortable lead in Saves and trade him mid season when other owners are scrambling for them.
You got a good team - no need to mess with it jsut to get Trout ,whom I dont trust to repeat last years numbers anyway.

Thanks, really appreciate the thoughts.
Matt, trade analysis is the reason I considered. On a per game basis, I'm gaining 0.70 of value for hitters, and just need to replace Brandon League on the pitching side. Had to put Aoki in to give some steals value back.

So your bench takes a hit, but rosterable players should come up pretty regularly in a shallow league. Seems like you are good with the calculated risk, so I won't try to talk you out of it. One thing: see if he'll include the players he'll drop along with Trout, in case they are better than what you'll find on waivers.
