Large, deep HtoH league, with 6 pitching cats: IP, Ks, QS, WHIP, ERA, SV+HD

Lots of opportunities to stream a pitcher for 1 start, so looking for suggestions.

Wed April 17 choices:

Lance Lynn

Sonny Gray

Jeff Samardzija

Jeremy Hellickson

David Hess

Trent Thornton

Lucas Giolito

who would you choose today?

I will typically check the odds, and in your case, Hellickson and Gioloto look the best.

You can turn on Odds as a dislplay column under Daily Projections.

Look for a teams with -1.5, a low over/under, and a large negative moneyline.

  • Hellickson with WAS -1.5 (projected to win) and an 8.5 o/u and moneyline of -131
  • Giolito with CHW -1.5 and an 8.5 o/u and moneyline of -101.

-131 is better than -101 so Hellickson looks better. All other pitchers are projected to lose (based on odds).

Obviously, this won't work all days, but if you follow the rule, it should work long-term.

How do I filter for just pitchers? Clicking 'X' and then just RP SP doesn't seem to have any effect.

Got it - just saw the box down low to select 'pitchers only'.

Maybe look at projected innings too since they'll need enough innings to get a QS.  A lower over/under will matter more too since it's related to ERA.

This is a great tool. Left to my own devices, I was leaning towards Lance Lynn. Based on your tool, it recommends Erik Swanson first, and Jake Odorizzi second - two guys I hadn't even looked at.

I chose Odorizzi - very curious to see how it pans out. WIll follow the projections versus the actual results for a while.

Why would Swanson project with a lowish 4.0 IP but a high 0.6 QS?

Once you get to actual game date, the odds guide the projections.  I'll have to look at the QG calculation and get back.
