I have a need for some starting pitchers with RP eligibility on my roster and I've been riding Fedde lately.

He's presumably filling in the rotation for Hellickson, who is out with shoulder soreness with no timetable for a return.

But Fedde is settling in... 6 innings in each of the last two starts.  I'm not sure Hellickson has a SP job when he's healthy again.

It looks like you have Fedde projected to get 3 more starts and then to the bullpen after that.  (Projected ROS: 18 games, 33 innings)

I'm curious if you think that "time as a starter" can be bumped out?  Several SP/RP's are available who are projected to start the rest of the season, so I'm trying to weigh moving now or riding Fedde a little longer.

Thank you!

Yes, we only have him getting a few more starts.  Even starting, he has pretty poor numbers.

Would getting a good RP be better than trying to find an RP-designated player that will start?

Thank you for the note. I'm hoping he keeps Hellickson out of the rotation a little longer, but I'm going to have to make a change at some point... It's a funky points league, 3 SPs and 2 RPs, no max innings limit or max starts. These odd leagues give an interesting twist to fantasy baseball and make a site like this invaluable. In this league you want a ton of SPs but not so many that you have more than 3 going on a single day... UNLESS they have RP eligibility. Guys like Kimbrel, Giles, Davis, and Holland are on waivers and if more league-mates used BaseballMonster, a lot more closers would be on waivers too. Only 4 closers break into the top 100 pitchers. #97 is Sean Doolittle, and he's ranked between Ross Stripling and Brandon Woodruff in rest-of-season RP projections, to give you an idea. And you'd need to have Doolittle in the lineup everyday while you only need Woodruff in there once every 5 days, so I'd value Woodruff more than Doolittle... Anyway, funky league means I'm looking at pitchers no one else wants. I'm one of the 3% of Yahoo players with Fedde in my starting lineup. :) and based on projections here, it's a smart move!
