Lets work on patching some bugs re importing our own projections. Seeing too many errors on players after importing standard projections from fangraphs.

The new data set has been added, and you should be able to import projections under Settings/Import Projections.  Yahoo interaction seems to be working for drafting/rosters, and I'll look at the other soon.  Most players should be in the database, but some are likely still needed (mostly new ones).

I'm new to baseballmonster, but have been using basketballmonster for a couple years - with great results.

Can anyone care to comment on how robust this site is compared to basketbalmonster? I sent an email to the site last week and still havent gotten a response yet. Figured I'd ask the community how they like it...

Baseball Monster is free so it's far behind basketball.  Here's the plan for this season:

• Support importing projections for full season leagues to use Projections, Draft Tracker, Projected Standings, etc.  Yahoo support is pretty good, and we'll work on getting ESPN, FanTrax, and CBS in the next week.
• Eventually we'll add our own full season and short-term projections which will be updated once per day (likely mornings).  I'm not sure when these will be added, but ideally before the season.
• We won't be supporting DFS so the site will be for full season leagues only.  We may automate some feature such as lineups, odds, weather.

I'm using the draft tracker for an NFBC slow draft and it works great. Of course NFBC isn't a supported platform so there's much more manual work involved but hard to complain when it's free!!

We do have a CSV format for basketball that imports NFBC rosters.  We can do the same for MLB assuming they have a similar export.

Sure, I believe those stats are useful when making full season decisions too so we'll have those.

I'm getting lots of "could not match..." errors when importing projections from fangraphs. Like only 497 or 636 hitters import successfully. Most that fail have low AB projections, but there are some with hundreds of ABs like Yasiel Puig, too. Any idea how to fix this? There are no position columns to delete, and I get the same result with or without PlayerIDs in the projection csv.

I know Puig isn't included because he's not signed yet.  The others may not be on rosters yet either.  What projections source are you importing?

Yeah ATC, Steamer, etc. have a huge pile of errors. ATC only imports 5 catchers.

I sent support@baseballmonster.com a list of errors from my import which had 150 errors total.  I can understand Puig not showing up because he's not signed but not all the others.  In the past Ken has had a way to work with import errors by adding a column with a player ID and using a Baseball Monster columns.  You could add a player ID to all the import errors and it would import fine.  If this system still works, it would be worth posting the instructions.

Ken, that REALLY sucks about no DFS. I really hope you reconsider at some point. I think your site has the best layout for hand building mlb dfs lineups. It's a shame it won't be out there for people to use.

You can then configure your categories here:

Then the Projections page should show ranks based on your settings.

There's an XLS export under Daily Projections or the Lineups CSV if that's what you needed.  Any exports from the old DFS page are disabled.

I know it's early, but when I look at Daily Projections for tomorrow, there are numerous teams for which no players are listed.  I don't know if it's the same problem as SF's players disappearing tonight, but I thought I'd point it out now, in the event it needs to be looked at.
