Hey,

I'm pretty much brand new to Fantasy Baseball (I'm a big FF/FNBA player), and I honestly have no idea of which projections I should use. I imported the "Steamer" projections from Fangraphs, but I don't know if these are the best ones there. Honestly, I really don't know the difference between all of the projections that are there.

Can anyone give me a shove in the right direction? Maybe a quick education? Basketball Monster makes this a non-issue, but I need some help here for baseball.

Thanks!

You certainly are on the right track! My personal reccomendation would be to go with ATC, also available on Fangraphs. They are a compilation of sorts of the major projection systems and tend to be the most accurate year to year. One thing I will mention is that projections are much more variable for baseball than other sports and should be used not as a draft order, but as a guide of what value individual players carry. So while they may be helpful in avoiding busts, you will still need to consider whether a player is falling too far for the ceiling you envision. Once you play more you'll get a good feel of evaluating talent and you may even start creating your own projections.
