We're hoping to get some feedback on our new RotoMonsterMLB website as we develop it. If anyone is willing to give it a shot (currently Yahoo and FanTrax with ESPN next), please email support@rotomonster.com, and we can give you a code to sign up for the beta access. 100% Agree (1 vote) |
Hey, Been playing around with the beta site. It looks really cool and I've found it helpful for sorting through available players to see who might be underrated in my league. Two things I noticed: 1) When you import a Fantrax league with scoring categories that aren't in a classic 5x5, in my case OBP and TB, it won't automatically apply them to the league settings. I was able to figure out where the league settings are and add them in, but either resolving the automatic format loading or making league settings easier to find might help make this process easier. 2) There is no scoring category for SVH. I am using Saves and Holds seperately for now, but I think many deeper leagues will use this category and the value calculation should be different when combined. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
OK, thanks, and we'll get some of these categories and stats added. I'll post back here when that's ready, but it shouldn't be more than a few days. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
I believe your 3 categories have been added if you'd like to import your league again. 100% Agree (1 vote) |
OK, I have to access to it so I will check it out. Just has rankings, no way to import projections, right? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
We need to add some tutorials, but here's a list of some uses: - The front page shows:
- List of games for that day along with time until the next game. We'll be expanding this into a table with more info.
- Waiver trends which is change in ownership for leagues without nightly waivers so users are able to do add/drops during the day. This gives you an idea of who may be in-demand when waivers run overnight.
- For each league, your injured players, how your players did yesterday, the MonsterBot ratings (0-100) for your hitters/pitchers (just the average of your ownership), Top Free Agents.
- MonsterBar - Currently showing 3 colored boxes where the first shows Full Season value, second Past 3 Weeks, and third Past Week. The more green, the better the player has been (based on your settings). On the Rankings page, the small number shows the # of games played during that period.
- Rankings Page
- Most columns should be clear what they're showing.
- You can use the buttons to quickly filter your team and find free agents (sorted by ownership).
- When the opponent is shown, it's colored green to red where green means they're easier to play against.
- You can check "Current Week" or "Next Week" to see the individual games. They are also colored based on difficulty. For pitchers, projected starts are highlighted too.
- Display page - You can choose extra stats to view. I show OPS, Plate Appearances, and Batting Order which shows the average batting order of the player (I like to target those higher in the order).
Example Uses: - Scan the front page to see which of your players may need to be replaced (looking at the MonsterBar and ownership).
- Scan the front page to see available free agents
- Find free agents under Rankings by clicking "Find Free Agents". This will show your players along with available helping to decide who to add and drop.
- To decide who to activate, filtering on your team and then ordering by Active Percent may help you decide between two players. Also, confirmed batting orders are displayed as an icon next to the player's name.
- To decide which SP to active, you can see who's starting and their opponent strength. For example, Frankie Montas has been decent lately, but you may not want to start him vs a good HOU team today.
- Stream SP by clicking "Current Week" then "Find Free Agents" to find SPs playing against green teams in the coming days. For example, a likely free agent Mike Minor is pitching vs a very green DET team Friday.
- Using "Next Week" you can find probable 2-start pitchers if you're in a weekly league.

Any chance there can be a drop down to select between AL & NL leagues for rankings? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Yes, that is needed, and we'll get that added. Thanks 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Not adding too much new here but wanted to give early feedback! Loving how you can use the email/User ID and all the leagues appear and are ready to sync. I did have to add OPS but I wasn't too worried about that. My league uses W+QS (and Holds) though and it seems the only option at the moment is to select both W and QS as cats. On the same note: when I go into "Display" to change what I see on the rankings page, none of the boxes are selected so I wasn't sure if selecting only the "missing" casts would remove the ones already shown or "add" them to the list. When I did select and save other boxes, it lets me see those stats on the right side of the page - with colored boxes, but it seems the league settings are still set to the normal 5x5. This may be user error, haha, but I am still playing around with it and haven't seen another way to change the league settings - yet. One thing I was wondering about; in the area with the dates and "season", "week", and "month" options, is it possible to add a little box - or something similar - where you can add/subtract a week/month? It would be cool to select "week" then "+1 week" to get to 2 weeks, 3 weeks, and back down again, etc.! If not, no biggie. The current set up isn't a problem at all. Just a QoL idea really 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Quick follow-up as I played with it a bit more just now. Looks like going to "My Team" sorts the guys by Own% rather than Rank. An option to sort by Rank would be cool. In the same vein, I've always enjoyed how the rankings are split by the number of teams in the league to visually show a player's "round" value. Maybe an option to view it that way or how it is now rather than a default change? Thinking it may be a personal preference and don't want to speak for the crowd if I'm in the minority, haha 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Any ETA on ESPN? I'd love to try this out. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Sure, we can give this a shot this week. Just need to create an ESPN league! 100% Agree (1 vote) |
When on the Rankings page, the drop down menu for teams gives the option for "All" or for individual teams. Would be good if there was an option for "AL" and "NL", thanks. 100% Agree (1 vote) |
Thanks, and yes, we'll add the ability to set a league as AL or NL-only. 100% Agree (1 vote) |
I just checked out Roto Monster. It looks like an excellent site. I just have some thoughts. Are you able to import ESPN leagues for MLB, NHL, and NFL fantasy? I only see that option for NBA. I am new to the site, so perhaps I'm missing something. Thanks 100% Agree (1 vote) |
Yes, it's just NBA, but we'll get MLB added next. Ideally before the season, but we'll keep you updated. RotoMonster still has a ways to go, but I believe it's preforming the basics pretty well. We'll add some tutorials to help people get started with it. 100% Agree (2 votes) |
Thanks! 0% Agree (0 votes) |
I believe the ESPN import will work for RotoMonster MLB now. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Just wondering if CBS will be added to RotoMonster? I'm intrigued by the site. Thanks. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
We can look into them, but they don't offer an API like the others so it's somewhat hit/miss on what we can do. 0% Agree (0 votes) |

Is Rotomontster for baseball down? I'm getting error messages whenever I click on anything. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
It may be something specific to your account, and we'll give it a look. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Are you still getting an error? If so, is it a specific page? 0% Agree (0 votes) |

Thanks, and I have sent codes to both you guys. 100% Agree (1 vote) |
Can you also send me a code. I tried using the code from Basketball Monster's User Settings page, but it didn't work. Thanks, Stu 0% Agree (0 votes) |

This will be my first year using baseballmonster. I've been using and subscribing to basketballmonster for many years. My baseball draft is today. I hope to use the tools the correct way. Hopefully it's the same as basketballmonster. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Good luck! 100% Agree (1 vote) |
I am a long time user of basketball and baseball monster. I entered the code from my basketball monster page, I just realized I had an old email address and just updated on my basketball site. It won't allow me to reuse the code to get started. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Can we import projections into Roto Monster? This way we can pull weekly projections, track h2h weekly matchups, and perhaps even utilize a smart tool/trade monster feature. Thoughts? I would love to help out - thanks! 0% Agree (0 votes) |
@bdubin - You should be able to use your code one more time now. For projections, we do plan on adding an import for RotoMonster which should then work for all sports (MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL). Hopefully early in the season. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
I hate to be a pain in the ass, but I'm still getting the same message 0% Agree (0 votes) |
