Just emailed you this! To support@basketballmonster.com "Ken, Here is my CSV screen scrape from the "Top Players" page, and "Pitchers" page (using DataMiner) for my RTSports League. By Top Players, I assume it doesn't have all, but the top 250 of 2 for batters, and I think all pitchers. Two separate files. I can redo the DataMiner Scrapes as needed in terms of column headings, etc. Or can fix the names to be First-Last, merge the files, etc. Thanks!"

I did a quick test, and I believe your CSV will mostly import.  You may need to manually assign some players, but it will let you know what didn't match.

This works GREAT! Thanks!! Four questions: 1. How do I distinguish players with the same name? The one example that failed: Smith, Will RP Tex Smith, Will C LAD I was using Last, First. I tried adding team (XXX) to the end, flipping to first last, and adding Team to that, and nothing helped. 2. How do I get Ohtani to come in properly? It failed for... Ohtani, Shohei (P) SP LAA Ohtani, Shohei (H) DH LAA 3. How do I flag if a player is "Active"? (Not a huge deal) 4. Any chance I can bring in custom column to show? E.g., I have our own league Ownership%. This is awesome as is, so thank you much! Greg

Thanks, and yes, we should be able to solve some of this by using Team if player names are the same.  We still have work to do for Ohtani since some leagues treat him a one player and some as two.

Sounds good! Yeah, I have a "Team" column always in there.

Right, Ohtani is a tough one. Easy enough to manually override in the meantime since you have an entity for both. So folks can just put both on a team, or spit, as needed.

Same issue with Logan Allen. SP for CLE, but RP for FA. Team column would solve that one as well. This import is awesome!

Great!! Looks like Team Match works! :) Next question on this: Seems like valid player positions are not matching my League. E.g, My league has Willi Castro/MIN as 3B and OF, but your system has him as 2B. I do have ass to a list of valid positions (e.g., "3B, OF, CI" in this case. Can another Column be added to the import for that possibly? (I don't need the CI support necessarily, since 3B covers it) Thanks!

Ken, I just realized that I need to include all the FA players as well in addition to the ones with an Owner, so you have all player possibilities. I will send you another one to replace the one I sent a bit ago. I'll leave the Owner field blank for those FA players if that works. Aside, not sure if it's needed, but I did also strip out all the CI and MI. Greg

Hi Ken. Any luck on this? Do you need anything else from me to help get the Positions column added/tested? This would be really helpful, as otherwise the manual import isn't "complete" as pitchers and batters are missing throughout as you select by position. Thanks!

Sorry for the delay, and I believe your custom positions will import if you use the format you emailed to me.  Where the "positions" column contains one or more positions separated by commas.

Hey Ken, no worries about the delay. Just saw this and gave it a go. However, it didn't seem to work. E.g., it had Willi Casto with "3B, OF" under the "Positions" column, and he remained only "3B" after import. I'll email you the file I used. Aside, once fixed, just a reminder to mention "Team", "Positions", etc. on the instructions for the CSV import page. It currently says "Import your rosters using a CSV file with Player and Owner columns." Thx!!

Oh, the other issue I noticed is that none of the pitchers got assigned into pitching slops. I realized it's because they are all just "P" on the Positions field, as this league doesn't differentiate. I assume that (once this is working), I can just make them all "SP, RP" to get them to be assigned properly? Thanks, Greg

OK, thanks. One major issue. I can't get pitchers in at all now, even removing the "Positions Column". Also, maybe related, but It seems that, looking at "Custom Positions" from your link below, that those are not being cleared when all teams are deleted? And it appears all pitchers have been messed up. They are flagged (*) like they have a custom position, but nothing is checked. Not even the default. And I can't seem to get them assigned to a team like before, as I mentioned above. I suppose I need to recreate the whole league and start again? Not a big deal, but definitely some issues with this Position import. I'll try that...
