Zack Greinke has been diagnosed with inflammation in his right elbow and will not throw for several days, the Dodgers said Monday afternoon. Greinke received an injection of platelet-rich plasma and anti-inflammatory medication. An MRI examination last week showed no structural damage to the ligaments or tendons in the elbow, after Greinke initially reported discomfort there. However, after Grienke complained of renewed irritation in the elbow Sunday, the Dodgers sent him to Los Angeles on Monday for examination by Dr. Neal ElAttrache. The Dodgers and their medical staff did not order a new MRI test.

So are you staying away now? This qualifies as a positive update, although preseason elbow pain in a pitching elbow is never a good thing.
