You mention Morrow and that made me think of a different but related issue. Josh Johnson is stilll available in my league. The thing that has kept me from taking a flier on him (other than his bad starts previous to SF including getting hammered in rehab) is his Ease ROS. Toronto (and most of the rest of the AL East) has a horrible pitching Ease schedule ROS. My question...how much do you let that enter into you decision about pciking up a pitcher.
That made me think of another idea (which I will be adding to a similar idea I posted in the Website Idea forum).....why not adjust your ROS projections using your Ease factor. Even better....while you're at it, use your projections (instead of past performance) and your park adjustment factor to calculate your Ease factor before applying it to ROS projections. Because I know this may introduce a loop of adjusmtents (i.e. using hitter projections to adjust Ease and using Ease to adjust pitcher projections and I am suggesting using pitcher projections to adjust Ease which will be used to adjust ROS hitter projections which I am suggesting to be used to adjust Ease which will be used to adjust pitching projections etc........) I suggest the following ...start with your current ROS hitter projections (i.e. not adjusted by Ease/park factor yet) and then make the Ease/parkfactor adjustment for ROS pitcher projections based on that.. Then for hitters use you current ROS pitcher projections (i.e. not adjusted by Ease/park factor yet) and then make the Ease/parkfactor adjustment for ROS hitter projections based on that.
I's like to hear your thoughts. I will be posting this idea in a thread I started in the Website Ideas section too.
Thanks
I suggested in the Website Ideas forum that BM make the Ease
