Kinsler activated today, but Profar sticks with the Rangers and looks like he'll be a super-utility. But his playing time will be sporadic, especially before they are comfortable deploying him in the OF.

The Rangers will have Jurickson Profar start working with Gary Pettis on outfield drills.

Washington vows to use Profar at 2B, SS and 3B, with OF possible later. Will not let veterans talk way into lineup at Profar's expense.

If Profar gets 4 starts a week I will be surprised. This seems like a Gattis spot start case. I would hold Profar until I actually saw how the Rangers would play him. But I doubt he gets enuff ABs to matter. The Rangers benching a top prospect instead of letting him play in the minors is unheard of.  I can't think of another rookie who was kept around for a spot start or 2 a week. Heck Colvin can't stay in the majors no matter what he does. Maybe the Rangers have a trade in the works?

Seems to me that you're suggesting that he'd be trade bait to try to get a puzzle piece.

Yeah, I'm struggling to see how he's relevant in most re-draft formats going forward. Washington "vows" to play him at those positions, but how often is he really going to sit one of Kinsler/Andrus/Beltre? The OF thing could open up more starts (Murphy to bench?) but it's not going to happen immediately in any case.
