Hi, I plan on using Baseball Monster this upcoming season for daily fantasy. I was wondering if you could give us some transparency on how you plan on adjusting projections based on the following factors:

- quality of the opposing starting pitcher

- park factors

- platoon effects

Thanks

For daily projections, we receive projected lineups from RotoInfo typically hours before the games start.  This will determine the order which affects the projected stats. We then adjust the hitters stat inputs based on the opposing pitcher, game location, day/night, etc., each with a different weighting. Before we receive the official lineups, the projections will default to our internal left/right lineups which includes platoon starts.

I guess what I was asking was what specific metrics will you be using to make those adjustments. Also how will you deal with call-ups from the minors?

We are still working on the exact numbers/weights for the daily process and will have that ready before the season. Once finalized, I will post more detail here.

Do the daily projections factor in player-specific L/R splits?

It sounds like matchup-specific adjustments are made on a "day of" basis. I have a weekly points h2h league. Are there any adjustments based on weekly schedule, parks, projected starters, etc. to the weekly projections on Sun or Mon?

The adjustments made on daily projections are also made for weekly projections.  We're currently working on updated remaining projections and will then resume adding factors to the daily/weekly projections (currently we're only using opposing pitchers).

Did the BvP stats ever get added and taken into consideration? Also, if you do this, when would those stats actually matter? A small sample size of 8-10 PA's against a pitchers doesnt really prove anything.

Also. Would it be possible to add something in terms of how hot or cold a batter has been over the last week or two? I know that maight be difficult to gauge as well, and I am not sure what the correlation might be.

Use the "Comparison Column" for the second part of that question:

You can pick any number of days or games and see which players are hot/cold for that period.
