Hey guys... 10 team h2h league (10 keepers)
should I trade Stanton and my 6th round pick for C. Davis
I know some of you may be thinking am I crazy for not doing this. But I just wonder if this is Davis career year and I'm buying high and selling low on a potential star in stanton (especially if he's traded)..... What you guys think, am I crazy? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Davis is 27 and his 162-game averages entering the season were .258 with 30 2B and 29 HR. That's good. Stanton is 23 and his 162-game averages entering the season were .270 with 36 2B and 41 HR. That's ridiculous. Davis is going to be among the HR leaders going forward, but I also don't doubt that Stanton's numbers will be back, so I can't blame you for passing on the deal. I'm not sure I would, but I'm not going to call you crazy for doing so.

Chris Davis is acsolutely having what will (should) be his "career year" right now.
Stanton may be in a worse situation, and playing like he isn't trying this year.... but he still has considerably more upside than Davis. Especially a year or two down the line.

Ya I'm struggling with this one.. I feel Davis gives me the better chance to win this year, but Stanton would be an instrumental player on my team for years to come... Ahhh what to do!

Normally I am all about winning a keeper league right now when you can, because nothing going forward is ever guaranteed, but Stanton will clearly be a foundational-type player for years to come, so you can't overlook it.

Right now my keepers are as follows
miguel Cabrera, buster posey, Jason kipnis, Justin upton, Evan longoria , Giancarlo Stanton, Matt kemp, Justin verlander, Matt Moore, cole hamels
?not sure if this maybe changes ur opinion or not

Those are 10 pretty studly players, how is their "value" determined? $ values or draft rounds?

Theres No penalties or assigned values. We've been in this league for about 6 years. Keep any ten you want, the rest of the players go back into the draft pool for next season.. I've lucked out with some solid drafting and big trades

Then my educated guess is going to place that 6th round pick as a wasteland of mediocre talent and basically a coin-flip. With 80-100ish of the top players gone you are looking at 100+ ADP players in that round.

Ya the draft pick is mute in the whole conversation.. It's basically stanton for Davis
