Looks like the top of the draft is tough this year.

Per game 5x5 projections put guys like CarGo, Encarnacion, and Tulo ahead of Davis and Goldschmidt, surprising to me.  But injury prone nature means that total value looks very different.  How to take that into account?  There's situations like this throughout the draft (e.g. Ortiz, HanRam, etc.).

Does anyone have a tool or other way to take both per game and total game values into account, as it seems both are important, other than just eyeballing it?  I suppose you could use replacement players or some other analysis, though I don't think there's anything automated in BBM.

When I draft, I will show Total Value and then use the Comparison column to show Projections, Per-Game value. It's a good tie-breaker to me or even a good visual to move someone significantly up if you have confidence in them.

Ken --  Any chance of a future option to incorporate replacement players into a BBM value calculation?  Thinking about it, it could be a valuable metric to see total value at ~162 games, with replacement players filling out the schedule.  So an injury prone player gets dinged considerably more, but not as if the roster spot is empty.

Total value seems to be the rule of thumb in baseball (vs per game in basketball), but I'm not sure there's a good reason for that other than the way statistics are reported/talked about -- players aren't judged by HR or RBI per game.
