After he initially left Sunday's game, word from Padres camp was that third baseman Chase Headley had a jammed thumb and was simply day-to-day. However, the news got worse. Headley is set to see a specialist to have X-rays and other tests -- and his status for opening day is now "in doubt," according to multiple reporters, including Corey Brock of MLB.com.
