Greetings, I am a new member to Baseball Monster and I need your help. I am in a standard 12 team Yahoo league with 23 roster spots (10 active hitters, 8 pitchers, 5 bench). What is the preferred league setting? Adding the bench players I've tried everything from 15/8 (hitters/pitchers) to 13/10 and in between. The draft tracker rankings vary with each league setting change and they seem out of whack with the actual adp's. I'm interested in the statistical side to try and gain an edge and can't even get through the basics. Thank you 0% Agree (0 votes) |
I would suggest setting the numbers to the active players so 10 hitters and 8 pitchers. This way the player pool will consist of those that typically play. If you use the 13/10 settings, the order should be similar by the values will appear lower than reality. The difference in ADP is intentional and accurately shows how we value each player. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Hi Ken, Can "On-base Percentage Against (OBPA)" be added to the pitching categories? Best Regards, James 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Thanks Ken, I will go with the 10/8 setting. The 13/10 setting shows 5 SP in the top 12 (Kershaw, Darvish, Hernandez, Lee, Wainwright). I understand the value of each but it seemed too SP heavy and I've been trying to figure out why/what I was doing wrong. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
When drafting, make sure to check ADP before drafting pitchers. Even though we show a high value for a pitcher, you still need to adjust your drafting relative to the other owners. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
ADP tends to follow the general consensus that you don't draft SP early, even though the stats show that the top starters deliver a statistical impact on a similar level to the top hitters. Our projections care more about the latter and, as Ken said, keep an eye on ADP and how your draft goes specifically to see how you should handle SP. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
