Who are some RPs you would target to help your WHIP?

In a 12 team roto league, I ended up drafting Liriano, Lynn and Kennedy, all who are projected to kill my WHIP.

I'd like to add a RP (or maybe two) to counter this somewhat.

I missed the boat on Benoit, Mujica and Melancon.

Some options include Carlos Maritnez, Cody Allen, Tyler Clippard, Neal Cotts, Brad Ziegler, Darren O'Day, and Luke Gregerson.

Clippard is an absolute stud, he's a pretty clear add. Allen has a shot at SV if Axford goes down, I like him in general. With that said, Liriano, Lynn, and Kennedy are relatively good SP options, hopefully you didn't gut your staff completely.

See my staff below. Don't get my wrong, I love my staff and Liriano/Lynn/Kennedy. I'm just projected to be on the high end of WHIP so I want to bring it down a bit.

(Bradley is in a minor league slot).

I'm going to drop Kazmir for Clippard. Would you drop Broxton for Cody Allen?

Yeah, you certainly don't need to carry 10 SP in a roto league unless the IP limit is through the roof. Broxton makes sense for you given that you have Chapman. To be honest, low-WHIP MR aren't terribly hard to find during the season given that most managers underrate them, so in that case I might see if Broxton can nab you a few saves. I'd make the Clippard move, though.

So Matt, what would you think of a strategy that paired an ace SP or with a bunch of middle relievers and a couple of closers in head to head? Haven't done it, but the thought just kind of popped in my head. Would 3-4 MRs vulture enough wins to be competitive?

Not much more competitive in the category than a roto team with the same setup. Some weeks you'll get lucky and enough of your rostered RP will happen to get the rogue wins in the same matchup, but I'd assume a loss in W (and K) most weeks, to go with the ERA and WHIP wins.
