Is it possible to add hitter and pitcher wOBA on the hitter page? If a LHB is facing a RHP would be helping to see the hitters wOBA vs RHP as well as the pitchers wOBA allowed against LHB. I know this or something along these lines is factored into the projections but would be helpful to see this broken out along with park factor by handedness. 100% Agree (1 vote) |
I agree with all the wOBA posts I've seen here. If you have time to thoroughly research this on a daily basis, there's a big edge to be had. Seeing it integrated as a compV option would be a drastic improvement IMO. Also, batter and opposing pitcher GB/FB ratio (perhaps on the same page) would be great to help find HR upside. A compV that averages the 2..I'm just sayin...thanks for all the work you guys put it on the site - I know it must be an insane amount of time, but much appreciated. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Yes, these are needed, and we'll start with player historical L/R WOBA. For some of these others, we may need to find a better data source. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Is there a timetable for having the woba changes implemented please? Thanks in advance. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
We have wOBA career with no L/R splits currently, but that's likely not very useful. We're going to purchase more data to get the full L/R splits which can also be divided by season. That's taking a little longer than expected to setup, but it's coming shortly. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Maybe if you can email us when woba splits are up for both pitchers and hitters for past 2 years? or historical however you want. The only reason I'm not using bbm is because of this so maybe when you guys update you can send out an email? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
The WOBA column was very useful last night but I would like to be able to look at just the last two years. Players like Brantley were completely ignored last night because his WOBA has gone off the charts the last couple years. By eliminating players based on WOBA I cashed almost all of my lineups last night using the monster though. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Rizzo is another that I avoided going by the monster WOBA when in reality he is a beast now in L versus L splits. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
The career wOBA is an interim solution until we can add selectable time periods. We have the data and just need to the process it and make some website changes. I would expect it to be ready for next week along with ISO and others. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
That would make baseball monster off the charts. To me WOBA and ISO need to be factored in a little more into the baseball factors because more times than not the higher WOBA player does better than the higher projected player. Of course you still have to figure in the park, pitcher, etc. I just think that WOBA and ISO need to be a tad bit more of the projection than they currently are. 100% Agree (2 votes) |
That would be a great addition. Looking forward for it in the projections. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Thanks for adding the WOBA!! 0% Agree (0 votes) |
on the pitchers page. is the wOBA the average of the opposing team? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
It uses the pitcher career wOBA vs. right and left. Since the pitcher will face a combination of R/L hitters, I weighs the wOBA based on the number of L/R hitters in the opposing starting lineup. For example, if the pitcher has a wOBA of 0.300 vs. L and a wOBA of 0.250 vs. right, and there are four righties/four lefties in the opposing lineup, the shown wOBA will be 0.275. 100% Agree (1 vote) |
Thanks for clearing that up! 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Any update on wOBA splits or customizable time ranges? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
The plan is to add L/R ISO next and then work on date ranges for the two set of data. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
