So i picked up Charlie Blackmon a few weeks ago and have enjoyed the ride so far...3/1/2 tonight after he had been quiet for a few days. I'm not stupid, I realize he's not going to be a top 5 player all season, but every single article I read says to sell high on this guy. I have a hard time believing anyone is going to give up a player of significant value for a month long waiver wonder. Is anyone else at a crossroads of what to do with this guy? He's playing pretty much everyday and leading off at coors...who's to say he can't hold top 50 value ROS? Just looking for thoughts/opinions as I really dont know much about this guy but I don't plan on just cutting him loose for a minimal player with less upside.

You mentioned what is often ignored when the generic sell-high/buy-low advice is dispensed, and that's that a transaction requires two consensual parties for it to get one. Are you wasting other OF stats on the bench because Blackmon gives you at least one too many everyday starters? Are you seriously thin at one or more other positions? Is there are team or two in your league desperate for OF help that might be ripe for taking advantage of? The last thing anyone should do is trade him away "because he won't keep this up." Like you also mentioned, he can still be plenty useful, and at no initial cost to you, even if he cools down. That's not exactly a terrible situation.

My team is above, posted without this text by accident. I had been wanting to trade kipnis and just roll w/ dozier but of course kipnis had to go and get hurt. I'm leading my league in all offensive counting stats and my avg/obp have gotten significantly better ever since I swapped out escobar for villar. I really just would like to trade an outfielder for a really good pitcher. I'm kind of punting saves....I'm just not sure which offensive player I should try to move. I'm also about to stop stashing baez since i've suffered so many injuries lately. Any suggestions?

Grilli probably could have been used as a trade piece... You obviously only have two OF that will net you a high-level SP, but you aren't exactly stacked at the position. Is your staff really that bad? If this is roto, then (1) you have some time before you need to make strength/weakness trades and (2) punting anything is risky.

i dont think my staff is that bad, I'm just not sold on Mad BUM being my ace, I;d like to acquire a top shelf pitcher and am willing to give up a few parts if needed. My offense has been humming along the past 3 weeks while pitching has been blah...not good or bad really, Its head 2 head and 60 % of the leagues teams are shitty at saves. My plan is to just load up on starters.
