pedroia in the 11th or kipnis in the 21?

What are the ramifications beyond this season? This is a tough one, although I'd go with Pedroia's ceiling: take the elite player in the 11th over the very good player in the 21st.

They keep moving up a round each year. At the moment my other keepers are Cliff Lee (22), Posey (21), Rizzo (26), Stanton (24) -- the league has been around a while, though I inherited the team. OPS and HR are two categories outside the standard 5x5.

Wow, some serious bargains there. Neither answer is wrong here, but Kipnis as a 17th rounder in four years sounds pretty sweet.

I would keep pedroia. In the 11th round with all the keepers the choices ain't going to be that hot. In fact the 11 and 21 round will both be equallish. The great thing about pedroia is he is elite this year. next year at 10 he should still be elite. Once Pedroia ages out of keeper status just drop him. Kipnis will never be elite. Even at 17 in 4 years u will prolly find a better bargain to keep in the late rounds in future years.
