Hello All,

Just signed up to Baseball Monster today, I've been doing DFS for 2 weeks as of today.  Only prior experience was season-long fantasy.  I was searching the web and found this site via a reddit thread. Its been exhaustive trying to do all this research on your own and hoping this software can help lighten the load. I've taken a look over the sticky topics on how to use the website.  Was just reaching out to the community for any tips and/or advice on how to get the most out of the software or anything in general to increase my chances of success . I'm currently playing on FD, DK, and DS.

Thanks in advance,

dolo20

There is a lot there so please let us know if you have any questions.

I'm a fairly light player of DFS, but here's how I approach most days.

1. Look at the pitching, and grab the best one for that day. Unless, there's a great deal, I try to find the best pitcher based on pitcher skill, opponent strength, and pitcher recent performance. I find pitchers to be more predictable than hitters so I like to spend my money there first.

2. I then purchase hitters looking at their Ratio (best Value/$), recent performance, and batter vs. pitcher stats.

You have probably figured this out, but to see Recent Performance, you can setup the Comparison Column to view Per Game and Past # of Games (I use 5 for hitters). Once set, click the Save icon to store the setting.

Hopefully that helps.

I too, recently discovered this site.  I am eager to receive my membership, after signing up at DK for the first time.

I have been playing at DraftStreet for a few weeks, with some moderate success.  Initially, I was getting discouraged, because I was getting beat-up.  It felt like I was playing against the same nine bots every night.  It was similar to playing online poker back in the day.  I disagree with the previous poster who said pick the best pitcher.  On Draftstreet in particular, I have had success picking three mid-level starters.  I try to pick those who I think will get the most strikeouts, using various sources.  My advice to newbies is: 1) pay close attention to the weather.  2) wait as long as you can to set your lineup, 3) don't pick the highest-priced pitchers, and 4) stick to 10-man double-up tournaments.

Establish a bankroll for the week, and then play exactly six double-up games per week.  Play two units on your first game.  If you win, the next day, or game you play, you bet one unit.  If you win again, bet one unit.  If you lose the first or second game, go back to two units.  Take one day off in the middle of the week, either Weds or Thurs.  If you lose three games in a row, quit, and wait until the following Monday, and establish a new bankroll and start over.  As you slowly build your bankroll, you can increase your unit value.

Money-management is more important than how you play.
