If you can grab a pitcher off waivers after making this trade such as Tanner Roarke (who looks to be available in your league), then the deal makes sense. The current projections have Walker batting 2nd, but he's batted anywhere from 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th this season so it's uncertain he'll remain there (plus Gregory Polanco is likely coming for up for PIT in early June which could shake up the order.) Pedroia is locked into the 2nd spot on a good team so there's little uncertainty with him.
