I've taken on a rebuilding project from a absentee owner, not sure how to go about rebuilding this mess. Any thoughts from the board?

12 team league, 20 keepers

Minor league roster:

K. Gausman, T. Walker, Rafael Montero, Edwin Escobar, J. Singleton, Reese McGuire, Tim Anderson, Eliar Hernandez  Philip Ervin

The squad is pitcher heavy with a smattering of developing catchers.

Obviously, your hitting needs some help. How do the keepers work? Is it 2 rounds less than their current keeper round next season?

No round bump, it's just a straight up keep 20 then draft, with varying protections for the minor league roster depending upon final standings.

I was offered a choice of Junior Lake, Juan Francisco or DJ LeMathieu for my Jimmy Nelson. None of the players involved are world beaters, Lake seems like he could be a modest upgrade.

I've started inquiring about the more prominent hitting prospects/young bats. I figure I'll have to part with someone attractive to land a few (probably Sale or someone of his ilk). Also made a few roster moves with the shallow FA pool, so I'm inserting the new team analysis.

Roto or h2h? What are the chances that a seller's market for SP will exist around the deadline, one where your veteran arms (Santana, Kazmir, Gallardo, Estrada, Masterson) might fetch more of a premium than they do now?

avatarunbigote  5/31/2014 12:32 PM

h2h. I've literally just taken over the team so I'm only starting to figure out the lay of the league. I have to imagine those arms will have more value when people have a better idea of their playoff chances (closer to the deadline). I wouldn't mind moving a few earlier even if the return might be slightly lower than if I bide my time--specifically I'd like to get something for Kazmir in case health problems kill his value.

I'm looking at trying a small move for a less hyped youngster like Arcia and/or Corey Dickerson, any suggestions who I should offer. Maybe Estrada or Gallardo?

I didn't have the settings input properly for this like (bonehead move), so my roster again:
