Is there a way to tell why a player has moved so much up or down from their base value on the daily projection?  I thought I remembered last year seeing it broken out.

For instance tonight Ortiz faces Smyly in Det.  I guess Ortiz's value has dropped considerably due to Smyly being tough on lefty's but it would be nice to see how much of the drop in value is park based/pitcher driven/weather etc. or anything else you all consider.

I try to avoid matchup's like Ortiz's value shows when it's that bad but I do question if I really should sit him for a guy like say Zobrist or Springer tonight.

The specifics are proprietary and something we'd prefer to keep internal. It's more advanced that last season, we've added more factors and adjusted their application.

Sure understand was just trying to understand the biggest driver of the impact as opposed to the behind the scenes calculations.

Two big drivers in this particular case. The first is that Smyly annihilates LHB (.194/.240/.310 career). Ortiz also enters tonight's game having hit .169/.321/.262 over his past 20 games. Put those two together and there isn't much of a reason to roster him for daily purposes.
