12 Team Keeper/Dynasty league (keep 12-16 next season), 6x6 (OPS and holds) Roto League. Currently in first place and am winning all 6 offensive cats but have some ground to make up in pitching to stay in first for the second half. I just made a deal where I traded Taijuan Walker, Danny Salazar, and Archie Bradley for Rafael Soriano, Greg Holland, and Marcell Ozuna as I could make up a few points in saves, ERA, and WHIP. I'm also about 60IP behind pace and am streaming SP a bit. Right now I'm in first place by about 5 points and it's possible trading my hitting for more pitching won't be necssary, but I'll be kicking myself if I should have made a move.
Got offered Wainwright and Samardzija for George Springer and Josh Donaldson. It seems a little steep, but I'd be getting back a top tier ace and a solid second SP and my offense could probably sustain the loss. It really comes down to what Springer's long term upside and value is I guess.Samardzija getting traded to Oakland doesn't increase or decrease his value too much IMO.

How does the cost of those keepers work too, that's an important factor. If you can just keep wainwright forever, I'd do it. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
That's a stacked dynasty team... I have some pause, although I am usually in favor of ensuring wins now even in the keeper/dynasty context. Springer is such a beast. 11.8% BB and .235 ISO as it currently stands, and the sky is the limit. How successful has your SP streaming been to this point? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
No costs on keepers. Simply keep your best. Minimum 12 keepers next season with max 16 (extra round picks if you only keep 12). Streaming has been pretty good thus far. I go in waves depending on how my streams work. Usually stream a few, ride them while they're hot, then dump without looking back. We do have a total 85 moves limit but I'm only at 33 so that's not really a concern. I feel like a few more weeks with my recently acquired RPs ( I added Joe Smith and Luke Gregerson just the other week) and I'll gain some points in ERA and WHIP or at least hold strong too. I think I made up 20-ish points in about a month or so which is pretty impressive looking back on it. Mostly due to streaming and my offense being near uncatchable. The second place team is the team right behind me in the offensive cats which leads me to hesitate to move too much from there as well. Runs being the closest cat % wise with me being up about 5% more than him and others. OPS and SBs are probably untouchable in. Most trades I feel pretty good about and since this deal makes me hesitate I'll probably pass. That's my gut anyway. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Encarnacion getting hurt today puts the kibosh on the 2 hitter for 2 pitcher proposal I would guess. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
I rejected the deal. EE getting hurt doesn't help, but doesn't disuade altogether either. He countered already: Springer, Donaldson, and Altuve for Wainwright, Samardzija, and Cano. That's a nice upgrade IMO. I get older, but realistically selling high on Altuve for Cano is very nice. 100% Agree (1 vote) |
