Keeper league trade

I have decided to firesale my team in my H2H points keeper league.

I have two offers for the same package (Cole Hamels, James Shields, and Glen Perkins):

1) a 2nd round pick

2) a 3rd round pick and Oscar Taveras (who I would be able to keep for 3 years in the 19th round).

What would you guys take? We keep 5 players and right now I have a solid 4 in Matt Carpenter, Josh Donaldson, Greg Polanco, and Alex Cobb. I also already made a deal for my better players (Felix, Abreu, etc.) and acquired two first round picks.

Of the two offers, #2 looks more appealing. Taveras likely won't be much this season, but a full-time job batting near the top of the order the next three years makes him valuable. What's your preference, and how far apart are the 2nd and 3rd picks? Is it the same owner?

I think I'm leaning towards 2 as well. Taveras could very well be a stud, especially in points, so that is swaying me so far.

It's two different owners, both of who are top contenders and should be late-to-last picks in the draft order of 12 teams. Basically, what it comes down to is if Taveras for 3 years is worth as high as a 23 pick swing (first pick in the 2nd round would be 13 & and last pick in the 3rd round would be 36)? 

I'm thinking yes but curious as to what others think.

It is hard to know without looking at how the point system works. What is the value in points of the 13th projected player and what is the value of the 36th projected player? Then we can try to come up with a rough estimate of what Taveras point projection would look like to see if it is worth it.

Based on the point systems:

• Preseason projections, difference between 13th and 36th = ~40 pts
• ?Current rankings: difference between 13th and 36th = ~35 pts

So, I think you answered my question lol
