Why does CBS suck so much?

I foolishly joined a CBS prize points h2h league.  I don't know what I was thinking.  Aside from how terrible CBS' site is, I just noticed that for next week, they don't count two weeks.  So for that matchup, it only counts Fri-Sun games, and not the week following as well, like every other site.

What gives?

I don't play on CBS if I can avoid it. Isn't the worst thing about CBS prize leagues that they only pay out something like 50-60% of the entry fees?

First of all, the points format is foolish.  One might as well not even bother with hitters.  Whomever gets the luckiest streaming pitchers wins every week.  There's nothing to it.  If you have several pitchers on your staff who only have one start in a given week, you automatically lose.

Furthermore, when day games begin at 12:35 PM, CBS' website thinks it is 12:35 AM, and you can actually drop players who are playing in that game.  I've been able to drop a pitcher who gets shelled in the first three innings, and replace him with someone else.  The dumb part is, if you have three pitchers who all get shelled on a Monday or Tuesday, your week is over.

The fact that the lineups lock at the start of the first game of the day, (excluding 12:35 games) is so stupid.  Their support is equally bad.  I wish I could quit the league, but I am sticking it out, in the off chance I might actually win some of my money back.

Thanks for listening to me vent.

Do you guys support FanTrax.

Their payout is like Yahoo! but they have no limits for pitchers.  I wonder if that makes pitchers an asset in FanTrax.

Unfortunately, we cannot connect to FanTrax's draft room. Does Yahoo! even offer pay leagues this season?

Points leagues basically suck.  H2H basically sucks.  Combine the two and you've got a major headache on your hands.

The pitcher streaming thing has very little to do with CBS... it's a major problem in general with H2H-Points leagues.  points are hard to balance, and unless your pitchers are worth considerably less than your batters, you'll almost always have this problem.

The solution: You NEED to be able to set "Max IP per week" to play H2H-points, or you are just wasting your time.  Yahoo doesn't support this setting either, something tells me ESPN won't either.

I actually was pointed to Faxtrax by someone... and it looks amazing.  Does anyone here use it often?  Is it reliable?  They have the magic "Max IP Per Week" setting among a myriad of other amazing customizations, and I have been thinking about moving my Tango Points leagues there.

Alot of people are stating Yahoo! is not going to have Pay Leagues this season and Yahoo! is stating coming April.  Not sure but I guess I have to wait.  FanTrax looks riped to take over Yahoo! and a lot fair in payout.  Any way you guys can get into their Draft Room or is it just impossible?

Starting Yahoo! pay leagues in April seems a bit late.

For FanTrax, we could not access their draft room for basketball, but I'll do some looking to see if anything's changed.

I'm new here, just signed up today.

I've played on all three sites in previous years and I've drafted on all three sites for the 2015 season.

Fantrax has a clean layout but has some catching up to do with both Yahoo! and CBS. Fantrax reminds me of a beautiful model with a horrible personality. It looks really good at first glance but once you start getting down to the nitty-gritty you start uncovering all the flaws.

Yahoo! in my opinion is still above all the competitors.

If I had to assign a point grade for all three sites it would go like this:

Yahoo! - 92/100

CBS - 85/100

Fantrax - 79/100

For what it's worth, I think Fantrax is on the fasttrack to take over. Give it 3-5 years and I think they could be top dogs.

I've also played on ESPN I'd give them a 83/100

Snooping around http://nfbc.stats.com/baseball/home/nfbc/index.asp.

Will there be any problem with BBM draft tracker during draft.

I'm going to compete in the $500 or $1000 league and want to make sure this work.

Anyone notice any flaws to this and have any info on how they score?

For NFBC, we only support their positions and not Draft Tracking. Only Yahoo!, CBS, and ESPN can be accesses with the Draft Tracker.  For others, you will need to manually check off players as they're drafted. You can still see an analysis of your team though it requires more effort.

This will make it hard as I can not see an analysis of other manager teams right?

You would have to manually keep the rosters updated using Team Players if you want to see all teams.  If your draft is slow enough, this is possible.  However, once you've finished your draft, we can look into getting your rosters imported if they have some export functionality.

Sigh.  Yahoo! has it as 1:30 MINS and this one has it as 1:00 MINS.. Its going to be tough.  Not to mention the calculation of other fast manager drafting. It will be a lot of $$$ on the table to mess up.  Glad to know that the exporting options are under the works.  But as of right now like you mention Ken...the risk outweigh the gains.

Do you guys know if CBS does ROTO league like Yahoo!?

Yes, CBS does roto leagues, typically 5x5.

Typically 10 teams rather than Yahoo's 12 plus they require two starting catchers which make them more valuable.

Wow...Now I see why you guys do not want to play in CBS... payouts are 1:3 and 1:5 max...Horrible.

Yes, the payouts are not good.

Of the three we can use with the Draft Tracker, I think CBS is your only money option unless Yahoo! starts theirs soon.
