I haven't yet seen an approach that takes baseballmonster's projected values and translates them into rankings. So here's my take on a top 70, 10 team standard Yahoo roto. Please shoot holes in it.
The methodology here utilizes positional values and a blend of total and per game value metrics. Per game, while the default in basketballmonster, gets less love in baseball because 0.72 RBI/game has no conventional meaning; yet seems important to integrate. I've also tried to incorporate ADP as possible. The intent is to pair this with in-draft decision making and evaluation of team needs, how the draft is unfolding, etc. Here goes.

This looks totally different than it might have before using the baseballmonster tools. I surprised myself that some players are ranked so high... it's mostly a function of significant downgrades of many others. In drafts, I'm finding myself still getting very substantial values based on this system, as overvalued players run off the board quickly. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
