Drop Benoit for Feliz?

Should I drop Benoit (next to be traded?) for Feliz who, Ron Washington said would be next in line?  are also available. It's possible that another manager might pick up Feliz today. If that happens and Benoit gets traded, I'd be left with Quackenbush, Thayer, Cotts, Putnam, Petricka, or Soria.

If your not playing any keeper league I would drop either Quackenbush, Thayer, Cotts, Putnam, Petricka.

I think I didn't say that right -- I meant to say that if Benoit gets traded the only potential closers on the waiver wire would be - Quackenbush, Thayer, Cotts, Putnam, Petricka, or Soria.

Feliz has been so horrible for so long now that the odds he keeps the job are not very high. Benoit will probably end up with more saves rest of season so I would hold him.

In H2H league where the guys I will be meeting in the playoffs all have 3 closers. Benoit is my 3rd closer, so in order to stay competitive in the Saves category I would need a closer if Benoit gets traded.

Anything else droppable? If you need SV, then it makes sense to load up, not drop one potential source of SV for another.

I agree but, unfortunately, nothing else to drop and no extra roster spots. Bottom line - if you think Feliz will be a better closer than Benoit ROS (assuming Benoit DOES NOT get traded) then I should definitely drop Benoit for Feliz. (BBM hasn't changed the projections for Feliz yet). Also, If you think Benoit will be traded to a non closer situation then I should do the same thing. However, if Benoit > Feliz AND you don't think Benoit will be traded to a non closer situation, then I should keep Benoit.

So.....drop Benoit for Feliz?

Feliz's projection was updated after the trade. Given the whole of the situation, I'd keep Benoit, given that he's the far superior pitcher. If he's traded, then I'd assume you'll lose to teams with three for-certain closers and look to strengthen your team elsewhere. Adding Feliz adds a much higher probability to hit your ERA/WHIP while providing the least likelihood of SV among "closers." TEX is last in the league in SvOpp.
