This means you'd rather have Taveras long-term than Longoria? If I understand your settings correctly, you can keep any 10 players next year, and all are treated equally?

Yes exactly, I can keep any 10 of my players I'm wondering if I should sell longoria and buy taveras Longoria looks like he's already hit his ceiling Do you think this is worth the gamble?

Longoria is still a Top 7 3B so you would need a replacement, or will Cabrera take that place? Longoria is only 28 so I would expect some good seasons yet. Taveras has the potential, but I'd prefer to trade for someone who's already shown he's MLB-ready.

I could slide Cabrera over. And posey plays C and 1, so I would have to get a player to fill one of those spots which shouldn't be too hard

i just look at longoria career and his batting average is not that greatest a whole, he doesn't steal or score many runs.. Just feel like there's other guys out there that I can plug in and get similar value

if taveras is as good as they say he is then he should be a top 12 OF for years to come no?

I like the proven and steady of Longoria over the potential of Taveras. However, if you need the help in OF and can replace Longoria with better (by sliding Cabrera over and getting a 1B -- which is easier to find), then the deal could work.

Cabrera only has 5 games started at 3B this year, depending on where your league is run he will probably lose 3B eligibility next season.  Something to keep in mind.

You exrtra categories make it more interesting. Taveras should be plus in AVG and won't strike out much, whereas .280 looks like the absolute best we can expect from Longoria and he whiffs a lot. You'd have to think that Taveras will (eventually) be better than Longoria in five of eight categories (R, H, SB, K, AVG). Scouts absolutely love Taveras, but he's not yet a sure thing for fantasy stardom. Assuming this is to send immediate help to a contender, can you sneak a draft pick sweetener of any kind into the deal?

Exactly, the guy with taveras is in 3rd place and I'm in 9th

?he's standing firm on not including a pick

our deadline is Sunday I'm still torn.. I just fear taveras being a bust lol

If anything, Taveras has more market value and should continue to for a while, so he'd be the preference. Perhaps you can flip him for something else, given your obvious uneasiness. Or shop Longoria elsewhere?
