I'm in the last week of a season (points league) and need to make sure I have the pitcher start dates figured out as I need each of my few move to count.  As of today (Sunday) for the last week of the year, there are multiple pitchers that don't have the expected start dates when I compare it to Yahoo (and ESPN's Forecaster) projections. I depend on this tool and have made move in advance that I wonder if will by in vain.  1 day before the final week of my season I would expect them to be corrected.  How are these projected pitcher days figured and why are they not syncing up with other sites?

Examples of pitchers that don't align as of today (-1 day before the next week):

  • Bucholtz - Yahoo and ESPN forcaster on Wed. but BM has him on Tues. and Sunday
  • Sale - Yahoo on Tues. but BM has him on Wed.

I can assure that we check our projected starters multiple times a day to make sure they're correct. Buchholz is correct - the Red Sox have re-ordered their rotation and he's scheduled to pitch on Tuesday and Sunday. Sale is also correct - his final start of the season will be on Wednesday as the team wants to give him proper rest. Added links for both so you can confirm.

Yahoo! and ESPN forecaster are often slower to react and update to news that breaks within the past day or so. If you're looking for another source to supplement our probables, I'd just go to each team's individual schedule on ESPN and look at the pitchers that are listed. They're updated most of the time.

Sounds great! Turns out that Baseball Monster is more accurate than Yahoo who hosts my leagues. Not bad for an advantage over the others, which is why I'm here!
