13 team 6x6 OPS and QS Roto league. I typically play in a H2H Points league, so last year was my first time in this particular league. I finished third, but I drafted poorly and had to make a ton of moves to make up for it.
Most of the SB leaders are just buried in the projections when it comes to their total value due to their lack of production in HR, OPS, and sometimes AVG. What's the best way to handle this? Is it something I just have to remain conscious of during the draft and and possibly reach on some of these players if I am in need of SB? I am thinking SB would be the one category to be a little light on in this format right? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Punting may be an option with your settings since the SB guys will kill your RBI, HR, and OPS cats. I would try a few mock drafts with a punting strategy to see how your projected standings turn out (compared to not punting). 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Assuming I didn't want to punt, how would you suggest bumping potential 20/20 guys up the rankings like Ian Desmond, Kinsler, Kipnis? I figure these types are more rare at the thinner positions (2B/SS), but they are currently buried. I guess I could mess around with the category weights? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
You adjust the SB weight since those are likely the buried players. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
My main roto league is 6X6 w/OPS &QS and I've had pretty good success (going for a 3-peat this year), essentially punting steals at the draft. But my league probably tends to over value some of the big SB guys and people end up reaching for them (as well as closers). I normally end up looking for cheap guys at the end of the draft or from the wire, just so that I'm not dead last. For my money, I'd much rather pump up those other 5 cats and scrape for steals all year. But I'm going to test out the mocks too. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
