Projected Standings

I'm in the process of evaluating my team after the draft to see what weaknesses I need to address. Could anyone tell me how the "% games from bench" affects the standings? Or perhaps someone could tell me a better approach to do my analysis.

Two of my leagues are daily leagues, with games started limits for hitters and pitchers. obviously, everyone does their best to max these out, so the benches are used. We use generic P positions, and each team has a bunch of relievers to get k's when they dont have a particular starter that day. If I make all my relievers active for the projected standings, then I come up short on wins, etc; and vice versa. Hitting can be tricky because some teams have only 12 hitters, others have 15 or 16. Am I being too picky as these are just projections anyways and a waste of breath?

Also, I owe all my success in BBall to your h2h weekly matchup where I could put the check marks next to the guys I was starting on a particular night... I won the league and now I'm in a playoff battle. Now, all my baseball leagues are roto, so I'm relying on the projected standings to give me confidence. Do you guys have any plans for something similiar for Roto users? Maybe an option for me to input 60% of my 2b starts will go to D Murphy and 40% to Bonifacio, or something to choose which players I will play at each slot for the year. Also, I do some streaming and there are some pitchers I'd throw every time, and others only on certain matchups. Perhaps  a way to reflect that?

You guys have never disappointed me before, so I had to break up a tricky challenge this time hah.

The % games from bench is used to determine the number of games to use your bench players in the analysis.  Bench players are those that are not marked active on the Team Players page.  For now, these calculations are generically applied to your whole bench so you can't specify a specific percent to each player.  However, it is an evolving page so something similar may be useful.  We'll listen to feedback and see what works best for the users.

I like the idea that guntaar2187 has -- allow the user to specify what % of starts each player has. In order for the projected standing to be accurate though, you'd have to specify that for every player on every roster in the league. That actually shouldn’t be too hard to do and would accommodate roto leagues very well.

I'm not sure what BM has in mind for H2H weekly leagues, but, if you guys are either going to do your own daily projections (based on, for example, whether a batter is facing a Ace, L/R, splits and park factors -- I don't ask for too much do I?) then I would LOVE to specify for my team and then for my opponent, which player is going to play which day.  In fact, it would be great for BM to have a tool that, allows me to specify which player I believe my opponent will play each day and try out different combinations of my own teams play (based on those daily projections) that would  win.

If you want to go a step further -- you could add a feature that would track the performance of my starters during the week (or during the year – with a link to the league web sites – for roto) and then let me make adjustments to my lineup accordingly.

Another useful tool for H2H each category leagues would be to use the roto type tool to guess the long term playing time of each player in the league, then allow the user to put in their schedule to project how roster changes effect the season’s H2H results – an easier way (though not exact) to find out where I am weak.

Version 2020 actually plays the game for me - I just collect the glory!

FWIW!

When I am changing the % of bench I am not seeing my IP or ABs change, which I assume it should. Is this feature currently down?

The bench are considered your inactive players.  Do you have any inactive players, or do all of your players have stars next to them under Team Players?
