I was offered Trout for my Pujols, Mauer, and Samardzija. Replacement catchers would be Jason Castro, Wilson Ramos, or John Jaso. Best SPs available are Hutchinson, Peavy, Pineda, Milone, but I might use that spot for Belisario if he's still there. I'm a little weak in steals as you can see by my team analysis below: 12 Teams | 13 Hitters Per Team $200 Per Team [5 Active = HR RBI SB R BA] | 10 Pitchers Per Team $60 Per Team [5 Active = W SV ERA WHIP SO] 1 | 1 | 2.23 | Cabrera, Miguel | | DET | 1B/3B | 115 | | 429 | 78 | 137 | 90 | 61 | 74 | 0.319 | 29 | 2 | 2.90 | 3.63 | -0.72 | 2.58 | 2.76 | 3 | 25 | 0.57 | Gonzalez, Adrian | | LAD | 1B | 112 | | 414 | 54 | 120 | 67 | 38 | 76 | 0.289 | 17 | 1 | 0.81 | 1.66 | -0.80 | 0.35 | 0.83 | 3 | 29 | 0.53 | Pujols, Albert | | LAA | 1B | 100 | | 386 | 56 | 105 | 68 | 35 | 48 | 0.273 | 20 | 2 | 1.34 | 1.69 | -0.69 | 0.48 | -0.17 | 4 | 41 | 0.38 | Pedroia, Dustin | | BOS | 2B | 111 | | 460 | 75 | 132 | 43 | 49 | 51 | 0.288 | 8 | 11 | -0.92 | -0.50 | 0.23 | 2.29 | 0.82 | 4 | 42 | 0.33 | Victorino, Shane | | BOS | OF | 96 | | 396 | 59 | 111 | 49 | 27 | 58 | 0.280 | 11 | 17 | -0.37 | 0.06 | 0.94 | 0.76 | 0.26 | 4 | 43 | 0.31 | Hunter, Torii | | DET | OF | 102 | | 416 | 55 | 122 | 57 | 20 | 79 | 0.293 | 12 | 3 | -0.14 | 0.77 | -0.61 | 0.45 | 1.08 | 5 | 55 | 0.16 | Mauer, Joe | | MIN | C/1B | 107 | | 409 | 62 | 122 | 46 | 57 | 76 | 0.299 | 9 | 2 | -0.75 | -0.17 | -0.75 | 1.07 | 1.42 | 6 | 65 | 0.03 | Calhoun, Kole | | LAA | OF | 97 | | 404 | 67 | 107 | 42 | 40 | 83 | 0.264 | 13 | 7 | 0.07 | -0.61 | -0.14 | 1.49 | -0.68 | 6 | 68 | -0.04 | Butler, Billy | | KC | 1B | 114 | | 412 | 52 | 114 | 57 | 43 | 77 | 0.276 | 12 | 0 | -0.12 | 0.72 | -0.95 | 0.15 | 0.00 | 7 | 73 | -0.07 | Ramirez, Alexei | | CHW | SS | 112 | | 379 | 40 | 112 | 48 | 17 | 40 | 0.296 | 6 | 16 | -1.26 | -0.01 | 0.76 | -0.96 | 1.15 | 7 | 78 | -0.12 | Crisp, Coco | | OAK | OF | 93 | | 367 | 53 | 97 | 39 | 40 | 52 | 0.263 | 11 | 19 | -0.36 | -0.86 | 1.09 | 0.18 | -0.68 | |

I like that deal. Considering the hitters alone, you're gaining 0.49 value assuming you replace Mauer with Castro. Mauer offers average which you can afford to lose, and having Trout along with Cabrera is almost unheard of. Switching Samardzija for a decent setup guy (with the potential for saves) will help your ERA and WHIP too. We like Pujols, but there's more risk with him, and best case, he shouldn't match Trout's numbers. The only cat left to address would be saves if you're looking to win all cats :) 100% Agree (1 vote) |
accept this deal as fast as you possibly can :) 100% Agree (1 vote) |

So I didn't reject his but countered it, and he countered back adding my Pedroia for his Porcello, Kipnis, and Wil Myers. I feel like it is a steal now, but I'm not sure who I would drop to make room for Calhoun and a catcher? I could drop Calhoun himself though I love his potential, and I'd probably have to drop Niese although he's been performing better than Kuroda and Liriano. I'd also have to consider Mejia and Roark as serious drop candidates. Any advice? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Drop B. Butler and J. Niese and take the trade now. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
I accepted immediately. I don't need to make any decisions on who to drop until Sunday. Billy Butler has been heating up. You like Calhoun more than him? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
I like K. Calhoun and you also have 3 1B which you don't need that many of. B.Butler will never give you SB and K. Calhoun will. Just imagine a skinny B. Butler in the making. 0% Agree (1 vote) |
They are close in value so whichever fits you team better. I would lean towards Butler since his role is more secure. It's hard to assume Calhoun will leadoff all season. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
I'd rather have Butler as well, especially with you being stacked in runs already. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
I'll also have to drop one of my pitchers since Calhoun is on my DL right now. So in addition to Calhoun, which pitcher should I drop? I'm leaning towards Mejia and trying to trade one of my excess outfielders for a more secure RP, but I could also go one of Niese, Kuroda, Liriano, Roark. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
J. Niese should be the drop. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Mejia does look expendable since you likely aren't competing in saves. 100% Agree (1 vote) |
That would work too but make sure to stream J. Niese on good games and not plug in all the time. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Niese has been great this season. I'll certainly be starting him for all his home games. The only games I'd consider benching him (in the NL) are @ COL and maybe @ LAD. I'll be starting him tonight vs LAD at home. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
