12 team roto keeper league. I'm last in R, HR, and RBI (thanks to Fielder, Braun, and Zimmerman). I'm doing okay (5th or better) in every other category, but I still find myself in 8th because of those 3 categories. I need to move a starting pitcher for a bat, but I can't decide what I should do. Go all out and trade Sale for the best slugger I can find? Or try to move Lynn for a smaller bat and hope my current hitters rebound? What would you guys do? *Wacha was the only pitcher I kept, but I'm not against moving him. 10 Teams | 14 Hitters Per Team [5 Active = HR RBI SB R BA] | 12 Pitchers Per Team [5 Active = SV ERA WHIP SO QS] 1 | 10 | 0.96 | Braun, Ryan | | MIL | OF | 96 | | 368 | 57 | 112 | 58 | 36 | 76 | 0.305 | 18 | 11 | 1.08 | 1.01 | 0.28 | 0.87 | 1.57 | 4 | 33 | 0.39 | Werth, Jayson | | WAS | OF | 92 | | 343 | 54 | 100 | 49 | 44 | 73 | 0.292 | 15 | 7 | 0.50 | 0.25 | -0.15 | 0.59 | 0.75 | 5 | 50 | 0.12 | Zimmerman, Ryan | | WAS | 3B | 95 | | 341 | 46 | 96 | 55 | 35 | 75 | 0.281 | 15 | 3 | 0.54 | 0.74 | -0.65 | -0.23 | 0.19 | 6 | 53 | 0.08 | Altuve, Jose | | HOU | 2B | 100 | | 426 | 53 | 124 | 33 | 24 | 49 | 0.292 | 3 | 25 | -1.66 | -1.24 | 1.83 | 0.52 | 0.96 | 6 | 56 | 0.03 | Adams, Matt | | STL | 1B | 89 | | 339 | 42 | 98 | 55 | 19 | 86 | 0.289 | 14 | 1 | 0.27 | 0.82 | -0.84 | -0.70 | 0.61 | 7 | 66 | -0.09 | Lucroy, Jonathan | | MIL | C/1B | 92 | | 327 | 41 | 96 | 50 | 29 | 44 | 0.294 | 11 | 4 | -0.31 | 0.30 | -0.48 | -0.79 | 0.84 | 9 | 83 | -0.26 | Myers, Wil | | TB | OF | 99 | | 345 | 44 | 91 | 47 | 34 | 93 | 0.263 | 14 | 4 | 0.38 | 0.09 | -0.54 | -0.47 | -0.76 | 9 | 86 | -0.26 | Segura, Jean | | MIL | SS | 99 | | 413 | 49 | 109 | 35 | 20 | 60 | 0.264 | 7 | 23 | -1.04 | -1.08 | 1.63 | 0.01 | -0.85 | 11 | 106 | -0.43 | Gordon, Alex | | KC | OF | 106 | | 373 | 43 | 97 | 47 | 33 | 75 | 0.259 | 11 | 6 | -0.17 | 0.01 | -0.30 | -0.58 | -1.08 | 14 | 134 | -0.65 | Bogaerts, Xander | | BOS | SS/3B | 96 | | 314 | 42 | 84 | 36 | 35 | 81 | 0.266 | 9 | 5 | -0.65 | -0.95 | -0.43 | -0.67 | -0.55 | 15 | 142 | -0.70 | Span, Denard | | WAS | OF | 95 | | 398 | 49 | 107 | 27 | 29 | 48 | 0.269 | 3 | 14 | -1.74 | -1.80 | 0.55 | 0.01 | -0.54 | 15 | 143 | -0.71 | Bourn, Michael | | CLE | OF | 93 | | 390 | 47 | 101 | 27 | 32 | 98 | 0.258 | 4 | 19 | -1.59 | -1.78 | 1.11 | -0.12 | -1.16 | 26 | 255 | -1.56 | Francisco, Juan | | TOR | 1B/3B | 43 | | 155 | 20 | 37 | 21 | 13 | 56 | 0.240 | 8 | 1 | -0.76 | -2.29 | -0.90 | -2.98 | -0.89 | |

Sale is the anchor of your pitching staff, but you probably need to take a chance and get a hitter for him. If free agents are hard to find in your league, you won't be able to turn your hitters around in R, HR, and RBI if you're currently last in those and projected to do poorly the rest of the way. You can always get lucky grabbing pitchers based on matchup, but that's unlikely to happen with hitters. Though Span and Bourne are helping in SB, they are killing your HR and RBI cats so I would look to move at least one of them. Maybe Span has some trade value since he's currently hitting well? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
I'm hesitant to trade Span or Bourn, because my team is really dependent on 4 players for steals. I play the hot hand (or legs) so usually one of them is benched a lot of the time. The only thing that is "easy" to get off free agency in this league is starting pitching. I think I will shop Sale and see what kind of hitter I could get in return. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Sale should be considered a Top 5 starter so I would hope you can get a Top 10-15 hitter. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Yeah, I'm going to reach high and go for Cabrera first. I think the lowest I'd settle for is Edwin (who will probably be impossible to get after his May) or Bautista. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
I was offered Victor Martinez for Lance Lynn. Thoughts? 100% Agree (2 votes) |
Martinez helps exactly where you need it, and he's had a great start to the year. Plus he has 2 starts at C and could qualify there at some point soon if your league supports that. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Yeah, that was pretty much a no-brainer for me. Should I stop there? What about selling Sale for Stanton? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Your team still needs some drastic hitter upgrades so getting Stanton for Sale would work if you can pull it off. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
No dice but he countered with Freeman for Wacha 100% Agree (3 votes) |
That may be better. You can keep your ace and get the #11 projected hitter (Freeman) compared to trading your ace for the #10 (Stanton) projected hitter. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
