Any thoughts on an offer of Strasburg coming to me for Bailey, Cobb and Berkman? Seems a value gain but I'm already very strong at pitcher, little hitting depth. I'd probably need to plan on following up with a pitcher for hitter trade, though I suppose it's a good move if the gain is big enough. Thoughts? Is Berkman worth killing the trade? He's a 0.30 value per game, if he stays healthy. Holds a util slot for me now. 5x5 roto. Thanks!

Quality > quantity. Take the pitching stats now and you can always deal from strength down the line. You'll be able to turn one of Kershaw, Strasburg, Lee into an elite bat at some point.

Thanks. Tried to pull the trigger but now he doesn't want Alex Cobb, wants Jayson Werth instead.
Would put me more in the hole in terms of needing to trade for hitters with both Berkman and Werth gone.

Let's say this trade does leave you short-handed offensively, couldn't you flip Strasburg (or Kershaw, Lee) for an elite bat almost immediately? Are SP undervalued in your league? Who is he dropping? Any value in adding them into the trade?
0% Agree (0 votes) |
A good idea, but he's got nothing I want in terms of hitters, at least that he'll trade - he loves the hot hands. He's dropping Bartolo Colon and Nate Schierholtz. Also has Lucas Duda, Mark Ellis, Chris Johnson, but all seem waiver wire fodder, and Bryce Harper and Chris Davis are untouchable.
A very fair point that I could flip one of my top guys for an elite bat... thinking of it as werth, berkman and bailey for a top 20 bat makes it seem more palatable. thanks.

Trade complete. Thanks, your help much appreciated. I promise to pour any winnings into future baseball and basketball (football?) monster registrations.
Now to figure out how to win a pitcher for hitter trade. Was just offered dexter fowler for Doug fister, I think that's a pass but close.
