I'd be getting Goldschmidt. I can definitely use the big bat, no brainer?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

I think I'd do it.  It would leave your pitching staff a little bare, SP at least, though that's eased by having Kimbrel and Jansen.  And you'd have a downgrade at 2B, but Goldschmidt is def an offensive force -- and Carpenter's value is not that great on a per game basis.  Not totally sure to be honest though.

I think you'd want to make another trade or two following if you do it, try to find an upgrade on porcello/kluber and look for another 2B, undervalued guy like Hill maybe.

Roto or h2h? Are there reasonably good SP options for streaming on the wire? I like your getting the big bat, but then you potentially look to move VMart for a 2B? Any teams with obvious surplus at the position?

Its a h2h league. There are definitely decent match up plays and young arms with "upside" on the wire, though no one fantastic. Second base is a different story. There doesn't appear to be anyone with a true surplus at the position, aside from a team with Gyrko and Prado.

If I weren't to make a second move that would leave me with Martinez in the IF spot and Dozier as my primary 2B, not awful but... less than ideal. On the other hand, I think I need to make a move for a power bat at some point to stay competitive in RBI and home runs.

Maybe you can expand to a 2-for-2 where the other player is of some use to you. Even if it's the player the other manager was simply planning to drop.

I'm going to see if I can squeeze Calhoun into the deal. Even though this manager drafted him, I don't expect him to be as high on him as BBM is. Not a exactly a position of need for me, but perhaps a good chip to move later on (or to replace someone I move later on). Hopefully it works.
