I'm still clawing back from a terrible first half in HR and RBIs and I think I'm still one slugger away from being able to move up the ranks.

Can you handle the loss of K and QS? It already looks like you're lacking in those cats with Sale. Can you replace some RP with SP to make up for that loss?

Yes.  I have an open trade offer to get Bailey for Melancon. The waiver wire is good but not great, with guys like Lincecum, McHugh, Vargas, Morton, and Vargas leading the pack.

Right now, by category, these are my positions (out of 12):

  • R - 8
  • HR - 1
  • RBI - 1
  • SB - 10
  • AVG - 10
  • SV -11
  • K - 9
  • ERA - 9
  • WHIP - 10
  • QS - 6

I'm currently in with 75 points, but the 1st place guy is way ahead at 104.5. The only way to catch him is to get HR/RBI, I would think.

Seems reasonable then, and you'll just have to take a chance with SP the rest of the way. Those waiver options don't look too bad so hopefully you can hold your ERA/WHIP and even gain a little in K and QS with some luck. The odds looks slim but much better than sitting there.
