H2H 7x7 Categories

Batting Cats- Runs, Home Runs, RBI, Stolen Bases, Batting Average, On-base %, Extra Base Hits

Pitching Cats- Wins, Saves, Strikeouts, ERA, WHIP, Strikeouts Per 9(K/9), Quality Starts

I was wondering if it is even worth punting a category in a league with 14 categories. If I was going to punt a category I would probably punt steals and saves but I do not really know if it is worth it.

Interested in hearing what everyone thinks.

Punting SB makes sense with your settings.

For pitching, are there weekly minimums you need to hit such as starts and innings?

Yes there is the minimum innings pitched that you need per week is 25.

Maybe just SB then. You could punt Saves, but they can be pretty easy to find during the season especially if you have some good setup guys to help hold down your ERA/WHIP.

If it helps you decided....I'm in a 10 man 6x6 league where I'm punting 2 cats(HR & RBI) I have been able to build a team that dominates in 8 other categories & competes in the 9th(saves)...It's a viable strategy that had me finish in the money last year(3rd place) & came up only a few stats short of being in the championship game

Thank you K Slight I will probably just punt steals because if I punted saves as well it could hurt my K per 9.

@Holty I think you have a solid team there for your settings. Joey Votto is really a steal this year for any team that is running OBP. You can also punt saves in your pool since the cats your league uses really emphasizes on SP's because of the Quality Starts category.

Thanks, I'm really happy with the moves I've made to bring in players that fit my punts...yeah I actually punted saves last year en route to my 3rd place finish...so my plan is to compete in them early on & then trade them away to save hungry teams in order to upgrade and potential holes due to injury...(not shown is my minor leagues which I'M SUPER happy about....Addison Russell, Corey Seager, Carlos Rodon, Julio Urias, & JP Crawford - 5 of the top 25 prospects)
