13 team 6x6 (OPS and QS) Roto.  Team hasn't been very good.  I am currently 10/13 with 67.5 total points:

R9
HR4
RBI2
SB5.5
AVG5
OPS5
W10
SV11
K9
ERA2
WHIP2
QS3

I was thinking of throwing some MR out there to try and help my ratios. but that wouldn't help with my lack of QS.  I think I have some solid players who just have been underperforming so far this year, but I am not entirely sure how to improve going forward.  Any suggestions?

Tough here, the lack of an ace hurts and you didn't luck into many late draft picks that outperformed.  Hurt by underperformance of guys like Pedroia, which has hurt me as well.  My best advice is to do your best to win trades, 2 for 1, and build up talent base.  See if you can move Pedroia for name value as Kendrick isn't that much worse.

That staff certainly hasn't made it easy on you. A deep league is going to make it tougher, but I've had some good success streaming the matchups for QS in roto, particularly as the season progresses. Given your current situation and with OPS as the extra cat, I would try to avoid rostering a player like Bourn, who hurts you in HR/RBI/OPS collectively much more than he helps in SB alone.

I was offered Dickerson for Yelich... Love Dickerson short term, but obviously some playing time concerns long term.  What do you guys think?

I'd be hanging on to Yelich, no question, who may be emerging from his recent slump. Dickerson is still fairly blocked for playing time for the final 2.5 months of the season.

How about Rios for Yelich and Jordan Zimmerman?  ERA and WHIP are my weakest categories at the moment, so I'm not sure if I can afford to move Zimm.

Trading away your best SP for a marginal upgrade where you already have depth isn't the best way to go about it. If you have an overwhelming desire to improve your offense using Zimmerman as the bait, try to address SS first and foremost.

Rios seems to be a pretty sizeable upgrade, though I agree it wouldn't be ideal to lose my best pitcher.

Yes, more than I gave credit for, but I'd be holding Zimmermann unless you have an obvious plan to make up for losing him.

13 team 6x6 (OPS and QS) Roto Keeper - Up to 4 players can be kept each year and you have to forfeit your pick for the round they were selected.  I'm in 7th place and 33.5 points back of the leader.  Also currently in position for #1 pick next season (starts at 7th place). Current keepers would be:

Abreu - 6th round

Khris Davis - 17th round

Springer - 20th round

Dickerson - 25th round

Should I be content with these 4 going forward or possibly look into bringing in some better options.  Abreu and Springer are musts in those rounds.  Think it's worth trying to bring in a SB guy (Altuve in the 8th) or a pitcher to go into next year instead of Davis and/or Dickerson?

Are free agent pickups last round keepers? Any reasonably good prospects (or better) still on the wire?

Free agents are last round keepers.  Baez, Bryant, and Gallo are all available at the moment.  Maybe I'll grab a few of them as the end of the season gets closer.  Any kind of rankings available for prospects?

I recently suggested to Ken that they use their Zscore system to rate minor leaguers current stats...hopefully that comes to fruition, because it would be an awesome tool to use to gauge prospects

What are the keeper terms and limits? I wouldn't wait too long to grab Bryant and Baez, given your current standings and their future cost.

We can keep up to four players but only for one year.

Well that makes it more interesting and explains why those guys are on the wire. At what point are keepers declared? Bryant seems like the best bet in that context, and he certainly could be the Cubs' 3B from the outset next season. Dickerson > Davis of the other options. And to answer your original question, I wouldn't chase specific stats or positions, just see if you can identify teams with too many players with sizable round discounts to keep and try to score something.

Probably makes sense to start shopping McCutchen at some point I would think for an above average option next year.  They're declared a few weeks before the draft, so I have some time there.  Probably just try to bring in a bunch of good options and then decide between them.

Yeah, I don't want to say you are 100% out of it, but you are pretty darn close. Cutch to a contender for a fantastic next-season asset makes a lot of sense. You may be able to maximize that shopping him to the worst "top" team, as they may feel that things are just outside their reach and would be willing to go all-in with the help of Cutch.

Thoughts on McCutchen for Kluber who would be a 16th round keeper next season?  Would I need more?

I haven't formally shopped him, just showed some interest in Kluber and that's what he threw at me.

Then, yes, you should absolutely counter with a bit more coming back on your side. Always try for a bit more.

Not much more to ask for on his part.  Kluber's probably the best value available on teams still playing to win this year.

Can't argue that it's not fantastic value for Kluber. Draft pick upgrades are always nice to have in keeper leagues if you are feeling frisky.

Wow that Kluber deal worked out.  Also just moved Longoria, Khris Davis, and Ryu for Altuve who can be kept in the 7th next year.  I almost have too many keeper options at this point.  Can only keep 4:

Abreu (6)
Altuve (7)

Kluber(16)

Springer(19)

Dickerson (25)
Baez (12)
Porcello (21)

Thoughts on trying to get Brantley for a 17th rounder?  Would probably have to move two of my existing options since his owner is out of it.

Brantley in the 17th would obviously be fantastic value and would likely cost you a lot.
