Is it worth making a run at Kershaw in a keeper league? His owner is out of the playoff picture and Kershaw was taken in round 1 so it is possible he will not be kept (I'd only be using him for this year). I'm not sure I need him after trading for Hamels. I could pose the trade as helping the other owner restock with some combo of Brantely (rd 12), Baez (rd 21), Taveras (rd 22), Keuchel (rd 22), Duffy (rd 22). Any thoughts? 12 Teams | 12 Hitters Per Team [5 Active = HR RBI SB R BA] | 7 Pitchers Per Team [5 Active = W SV ERA WHIP SO] 1 | 3 | 1.40 | McCutchen, Andrew | | PIT | OF | 36 | | 135 | 22 | 42 | 23 | 19 | 27 | 0.312 | 6 | 5 | 1.20 | 1.79 | 0.78 | 1.44 | 1.80 | 1 | 6 | 1.27 | Altuve, Jose | | HOU | 2B | 35 | | 145 | 19 | 49 | 19 | 7 | 13 | 0.335 | 1 | 13 | -1.66 | 0.66 | 3.38 | 0.70 | 3.25 | 1 | 7 | 1.20 | Brantley, Michael | | CLE | OF | 37 | | 144 | 21 | 46 | 24 | 11 | 13 | 0.320 | 4 | 4 | 0.08 | 2.02 | 0.45 | 1.10 | 2.34 | 1 | 8 | 1.12 | Martinez, Victor | | DET | 1B | 36 | | 133 | 20 | 43 | 26 | 13 | 12 | 0.320 | 6 | 0 | 0.78 | 2.52 | -0.78 | 0.91 | 2.17 | 2 | 15 | 0.79 | Encarnacion, Edwin | | TOR | 1B/3B | 33 | | 119 | 20 | 33 | 23 | 17 | 18 | 0.278 | 8 | 1 | 1.87 | 1.74 | -0.52 | 0.88 | -0.01 | 2 | 23 | 0.53 | Rendon, Anthony | | WAS | 2B/3B | 38 | | 152 | 21 | 42 | 19 | 13 | 25 | 0.279 | 5 | 4 | 0.44 | 0.59 | 0.35 | 1.21 | 0.04 | 3 | 30 | 0.44 | Freeman, Freddie | | ATL | 1B | 37 | | 140 | 20 | 40 | 21 | 18 | 32 | 0.290 | 5 | 0 | 0.30 | 1.12 | -0.89 | 1.01 | 0.67 | 4 | 46 | 0.19 | Heyward, Jason | | ATL | OF | 36 | | 145 | 22 | 39 | 13 | 18 | 24 | 0.271 | 5 | 4 | 0.26 | -0.81 | 0.43 | 1.49 | -0.41 | 6 | 62 | -0.03 | Baez, Javier | | CHC | SS | 32 | | 131 | 18 | 33 | 16 | 7 | 42 | 0.248 | 7 | 3 | 1.35 | -0.20 | 0.04 | 0.17 | -1.53 | 6 | 70 | -0.10 | Castro, Starlin | | CHC | SS | 37 | | 139 | 15 | 38 | 19 | 9 | 27 | 0.277 | 4 | 2 | 0.10 | 0.61 | -0.43 | -0.73 | -0.07 | 6 | 72 | -0.12 | Santana, Daniel | | MIN | 2B/SS/OF | 35 | | 149 | 17 | 43 | 13 | 7 | 32 | 0.288 | 2 | 6 | -1.27 | -0.97 | 0.97 | 0.09 | 0.60 | 9 | 102 | -0.36 | Harper, Bryce | | WAS | OF | 37 | | 128 | 17 | 33 | 15 | 15 | 33 | 0.258 | 4 | 2 | -0.17 | -0.36 | -0.17 | -0.11 | -0.99 | 13 | 154 | -0.84 | Taveras, Oscar | | STL | OF | 36 | | 123 | 12 | 32 | 14 | 7 | 21 | 0.263 | 3 | 1 | -0.59 | -0.61 | -0.68 | -1.61 | -0.71 | 14 | 159 | -0.89 | Martin, Russell | | PIT | C | 29 | | 99 | 12 | 26 | 12 | 14 | 23 | 0.260 | 3 | 1 | -0.59 | -1.14 | -0.58 | -1.46 | -0.69 | |

What's your current situation? Is this a Roto or H2H league, and how does your team currently stand? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Sorry forgot the pertinent facts. 12 team h2h, 5x5 scoring, 6 keepers max. I'm up to first place after three 9-1 weeks (assuming this weeks results stay the same); looked like I was out of the money until this recent run. The league pays out for regular season record and playoff champ. I think I have a good choice of keepers: McCutchen (1), Encarnacion (rd 8), Brantley (rd 12), Kluber (rd 13), Freeman (rd 13), Harper (rd 14), Taveras (rd 20), Baez (rd 21), Rendon (rd 22), Doolittle (rd 22) 0% Agree (0 votes) |
With your ten possible keepers, you could offer Harper, Taveras, and/or Baez and still have the six you'd like to keep (and not hurt your playoff run too much). Would the other owner keep any of these for next year? Is he in need of more keepers? If I were him, I'd likely keep Kershaw as a #1. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
The other owner is in a pretty bad way, aside from Kershaw he has Desmond (rd 14), Sal Perez (rd 15) and Carpenter(rd 20). The rest of his squad could probably be redrafted in later rounds next year. Do you think Kershaw is worth moving for at this point? I realize he is amazing, but will he cost more than he is worth (to my team). I was thinking of Harper, Taveras and Baez as cornerstones of my future team (I realize none are worthy of that status yet). I've also invested 3 seasons into Harper. Do you think two of the above is enough to get it done? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
If you want to keep Harper, Taveras, and Baez, which of the other players would you not keep? In other words, who are you planning to keep? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
I'd part with two of them, preferably not Harper. I don't know that I'll keep Brantley or Kluber as I think we might be seeing their peak seasons (or at least outlier seasons). The problem is they are going to be very helpful for the remainder of the year. So I suppose I'm being no help in you helping me. What would you do if you were me, disregarding my particular keeper preferences (as I probably value prospects more than a should in a non-dynasty scenario)? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
I'd have a hard time not keeping Brantley and Kluber since they've produced first round value this season. I'd offer Taveras/Rendon or Baez/Rendon and see what happens. If he says no, I'd be content with the current team which looks pretty impressive. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
