Hi guys, I have a deep league team going this year with a bunch of new people. We are 12 ROTO 6x6 Categories as follow with my team. Any advice on how I should proceed. Unlimited choices in streaming since there is no max but only 162 per position and 1700 innings ROS. Here is my team. I'm leaning on getting 5 more great setup guys to get points in the S+H. This league is almost anti closer due to that category so I am not looking for any closers. 12 Teams | 12 Hitters Per Team [6 Active = HR RBI SB R BA OPS] | 15 Pitchers Per Team [6 Active = W ERA WHIP SO QS SnH] 3 | 27 | 14 | 0.71 | Ryan Braun | | MIL | OF | 140 | | 555 | 86 | 160 | 89 | 50 | 120 | 0.288 | 25 | 12 | 0.847 | 0.80 | 0.92 | 0.10 | 0.79 | 0.70 | 0.99 | 3 | 29 | 16 | 0.70 | Victor Martinez | | DET | 1B | 133 | 4/12/2015 9:54 AM Victor Martinez will start and bat fourth for the Tigers on Sunday. | 509 | 74 | 164 | 91 | 56 | 40 | 0.322 | 20 | 2 | 0.892 | 0.16 | 1.08 | -0.80 | -0.21 | 2.37 | 1.59 | 3 | 36 | 20 | 0.61 | Joey Votto | | CIN | 1B | 140 | | 507 | 85 | 154 | 71 | 113 | 117 | 0.304 | 20 | 4 | 0.935 | 0.14 | -0.26 | -0.57 | 0.68 | 1.46 | 2.23 | 8 | 85 | 42 | 0.23 | Matt Adams | | STL | 1B | 139 | | 553 | 76 | 157 | 90 | 33 | 127 | 0.285 | 23 | 3 | 0.798 | 0.47 | 1.03 | -0.72 | -0.09 | 0.52 | 0.17 | 9 | 102 | 50 | 0.11 | Charlie Blackmon | | COL | OF | 136 | 4/13/2015 7:49 AM Charlie Blackmon went 3-for-4 with a double, one RBI, a run scored, a walk and a stolen base against the Cubs on Sunday. | 565 | 94 | 162 | 55 | 30 | 96 | 0.286 | 14 | 23 | 0.760 | -0.63 | -1.30 | 1.06 | 1.39 | 0.60 | -0.45 | 11 | 130 | 61 | -0.02 | Melky Cabrera | | CHW | OF | 140 | | 592 | 83 | 173 | 72 | 44 | 73 | 0.293 | 14 | 5 | 0.767 | -0.65 | -0.15 | -0.51 | 0.52 | 1.02 | -0.35 | 14 | 158 | 71 | -0.11 | Chris Carter | | HOU | 1B/OF | 141 | 4/12/2015 11:04 AM Chris Carter is not in the Astros' starting lineup on Sunday. | 519 | 78 | 117 | 81 | 64 | 196 | 0.225 | 34 | 6 | 0.781 | 1.89 | 0.44 | -0.46 | 0.12 | -2.54 | -0.09 | 14 | 168 | 74 | -0.14 | Joe Mauer | | MIN | 1B | 133 | | 521 | 73 | 153 | 84 | 68 | 105 | 0.294 | 8 | 2 | 0.783 | -1.30 | 0.62 | -0.77 | -0.29 | 0.97 | -0.06 | 15 | 180 | 81 | -0.18 | Aramis Ramirez | | MIL | 3B | 133 | | 516 | 67 | 146 | 80 | 32 | 80 | 0.283 | 17 | 3 | 0.787 | -0.24 | 0.34 | -0.74 | -0.81 | 0.39 | -0.01 | 16 | 183 | 82 | -0.20 | Carlos Beltran | | NYY | OF | 125 | | 501 | 71 | 132 | 78 | 40 | 89 | 0.263 | 23 | 3 | 0.776 | 0.55 | 0.22 | -0.71 | -0.48 | -0.58 | -0.17 | 19 | 223 | 96 | -0.33 | Daniel Santana | | MIN | SS/OF | 141 | | 604 | 88 | 163 | 61 | 29 | 137 | 0.270 | 9 | 23 | 0.705 | -1.24 | -0.89 | 1.03 | 0.94 | -0.32 | -1.48 | 20 | 233 | 99 | -0.35 | Lorenzo Cain | | KC | OF | 130 | | 505 | 64 | 142 | 72 | 33 | 115 | 0.281 | 7 | 26 | 0.723 | -1.50 | -0.17 | 1.26 | -1.05 | 0.32 | -0.97 | 26 | 304 | 121 | -0.51 | Brian McCann | | NYY | C | 133 | | 493 | 67 | 122 | 70 | 42 | 83 | 0.247 | 26 | 0 | 0.751 | 0.94 | -0.30 | -0.96 | -0.85 | -1.37 | -0.53 | 42 | 496 | 155 | -0.90 | Rajai Davis | | DET | OF | 103 | 4/12/2015 4:01 PM Rajai Davis went 1-for-3 with two runs, two walks and two steals on Sunday against Cleveland. | 363 | 50 | 99 | 39 | 19 | 66 | 0.273 | 6 | 31 | 0.704 | -1.64 | -2.35 | 1.74 | -2.19 | -0.07 | -0.90 | 51 | 610 | 178 | -1.11 | Alejandro de Aza | | BAL | OF | 106 | | 405 | 59 | 103 | 40 | 30 | 95 | 0.254 | 8 | 15 | 0.697 | -1.32 | -2.32 | 0.35 | -1.43 | -0.85 | -1.09 | 53 | 627 | 183 | -1.15 | Eric Young | | ATL | OF | 102 | | 417 | 52 | 107 | 28 | 34 | 81 | 0.256 | 2 | 44 | 0.649 | -2.09 | -3.07 | 2.85 | -2.08 | -0.80 | -1.71 | 56 | 672 | 214 | -1.37 | Travis d'Arnaud | | NYM | C | 122 | | 389 | 37 | 97 | 41 | 31 | 80 | 0.250 | 15 | 3 | 0.740 | -0.53 | -2.22 | -0.70 | -3.26 | -0.97 | -0.55 | 57 | 684 | 226 | -1.44 | Andrelton Simmons | | ATL | SS | 140 | 4/12/2015 3:28 PM Andrelton Simmons went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and two RBI against the Mets on Sunday. | 511 | 47 | 131 | 42 | 36 | 52 | 0.256 | 11 | 5 | 0.683 | -1.00 | -2.16 | -0.49 | -2.47 | -0.94 | -1.58 | 61 | 730 | 271 | -1.75 | Justin Turner | Day to Day - Questionable - bruised left hand - missed Sunday's game against Arizona | LAD | 2B/SS/3B | 82 | | 230 | 26 | 66 | 23 | 18 | 38 | 0.285 | 3 | 2 | 0.740 | -1.99 | -3.44 | -0.76 | -4.18 | 0.22 | -0.32

If I had to pick 4: Betancourt, Walden, Mujica, and Broxton. Three of those four are likely to get some saves, and all offer WHIP/ERA help.

Everyone in the community can post their teams here and ask a question, therefore we can all help each other to our best of knowledge. I'm just starting this thread to open it up to everyone. Thank you Ken for that food for thought. I was leaning on Betancourt, Walden, Tazawa/Mujica and Broxton. I will look into the better option for Tazawa or Mujicia. My league score Saves and Hold together and W as a separate category. I'm thinking more chances of getting a rare win from Tazawa? Now who would the 4 players I should be dropping. I need to get rid of 4 players and I have Simmons, Turner as a favorable drop. Not sure who the other 2 would be? I might have to drop Mauer and Carter since I'm loaded on 3 x 1B. 12 Teams | 12 Hitters Per Team [6 Active = HR RBI SB R BA OPS] | 15 Pitchers Per Team [6 Active = W ERA WHIP SO QS SnH] 0% Agree (0 votes) |
I'd go with the lowest four: Turner, Simmons, de Aza, and Young (probably need to keep d'Arnaud I assume). If you have excess 1B, can you trade one rather than dropping? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Great idea on the trading and attempted. No one is biting since its so early in the season. I will make my claim on Betancourt first and will see what other mangers drop tomorrow when waivers clear. I'll keep you guys posted tomorrow and good luck to you all in the season. FYI I will probably be dropping Simmons first which seem to have the negative averages worst than Aza since I'm counting OPS. I don't see much potential in Simmons in the new Braves lineup. Another thought would be trading off Tanaka and Julio or Buccholz. Thoughts? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Well that sucks....I can now drop Betancourt since Ottavino is the closer and I have him . 100% Agree (1 vote) |
I still stuck on picking up Walden and Broxton. I know they can help a lot with my Saves and Hold where I should not miss out on those nice 12 roto points. But at the same time I am open to stream up hitter spots and collect on those other counting stats. Any advice on the route I can take. I'm open for 4 more RP since I dropped Betancourt. Dyson and Vargas would be my streaming spot. I'm thinking Guerro might break out this season. Thoughts on that or just stream him too? Baez is my sleeper in the NA spot since hes not called up. 12 Teams | 12 Hitters Per Team [6 Active = HR RBI SB R BA OPS] | 15 Pitchers Per Team [6 Active = W ERA WHIP SO QS SnH] 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Ok...So I've added Yimi and dropped Mujica. Let's see how Yimi goes. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Wonderful waiver claims and picks. I'm hanging in the middle of the pack and its still early. Now I need to really seal the deal on the setup / RP guys and talked myself out of platoon-ing unless you guys can talk me into it. 1. No need for Rajai Davis as he doesn't play enough which I can drop. Thoughts? 2. Now that I have Daniel Murphy and Mose, do I move away from Aramis, the MIL are the worst in RBI production this year. Thoughts?? 3. Anyone else to drop? I'm looking to add Bryan Shaw / Junichi Tazawa / Bobby Parnell... What are the chances the METS will give Parnell the job back? Thoughts??? 12 Teams | 12 Hitters Per Team [6 Active = HR RBI SB R BA OPS] | 15 Pitchers Per Team [6 Active = W ERA WHIP SO QS SnH] 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Baez and Guerrero will likely not have much value this season -- can you find better replacements? For Ramirez, he's typically a slow starter so I would stick with him as long as he's healthy. The whole MIL team is slumping which can't last forever. For Parnell, he'll get a chance if Familia falters which is better than 50/50. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Rafael Soriano is another option for teams in need of a closer if he does get sign. Should I grab him now? Guerrero is one of the consideration. Baez is on the NA slot so that doesn't effect my lineup as all. Its like a DL spot for only minor leaguers. Wait and see on Parnell then? Any other thoughts? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Soriano is likely to be setup guy. Parnell will come in as a setup guy with more potential to take the closer role. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
After some thoughts Rajai Davis will be dropped. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Ok nice... Overview: Traded Joe Mauer / Sonny Gray for Huston Street / Joe Smith. This is how I am looking at now. jyang61107 thank you for posting this topic. This was much needed. That being said its my turn to submit my baseball monster/fangraph/ espn insider drafted team to the monster experts. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
1. Just traded Tony Watson and Cuddyer for Brandon McCarthy, may have been silly considering Watson is my best RP and Cuddyer is mashing in NY. Reason for my decision is I believe McCarthy has potential to go 180-200 IP, 175-190 K, and playing in LA will give him more opportunities for Wins. Cuddy will get hurt and its not a matter of if, but when he will get hurt and along with the waiver wire I'm already deep at 1B. RP waiver pool is also littered with talent so Watson was expendable. 2. My biggest concern is my SS slot. Do I pull the trigger on Hechavarria? 3. Too many Twinkies? We all know MIN isn't a perennial offense and I have 3 in the top of their order. 4. Phil Hughes is another concern. Should i sell now and get whatever value he has and cut my losses or stay patient? 12 Teams | 13 Hitters Per Team $200 Per Team [8 Active = HR RBI SB R 2B 3B BA OBP] | 9 Pitchers Per Team $100 Per Team [8 Active = IP W SV ERA WHIP SO HLD QS] 0% Agree (0 votes) |
1. Judging from your scoring I would invest in pitchers. IPV is good assuming there is no limit cap. You would probably want to stream as much pitchers as possible and ignore the ERA and WHIP category. Since SP can give you ipV - wV - soV - qsV which outweight those lesser ERA and WHIP. 2. I want Hechavarria as was 2 hours too late. Got to work and made a post if I should pick him up and losted him out why typing my post. Take him and drop John Jaso, you can stream C's all the way since they are not gurantee to start everyday. 3. Yes I'm in the same situation and currently unload Mauer. No one will want Santana now. You can sell out Dozier since you have 2 other eligible 2B who are ranked aboved Dozier in your format. 4. You can try to move him but I doubt anyone will buy on a 3 game slump. Use the daily projections and hopefully he does good in a game you need and sell then. But at all ends, your scoring system is made for pitchers to go nuts. Good Luck 0% Agree (0 votes) |
1. Just added Brandon McCarthy and Jonathon Niese which will boost my IPv etc. 2. Here are the 3 best SS eligible on the waiver wire. Chris Owings, Hechavarria, and Jed Lowrie. I'm not sold on Hech yet. He has been hot lately, but no speed or power and he currently bats 8th in the order. I like Lowrie and I think he will have solid production comparable to his projections. My favorite of these three is Owings and his upside. He has a little bit of speed and a descent amount of pop in his bat. He strikes out a crazy amount, but fortunately in this leagues k's against batters isn't a category. 3. I cant bring myself to drop Mauer yet. Minneapolis is still cold in April and they're just now cracking into 60 degree weather which should help with multiple factors when it comes to hitting major league fast balls. We all know Mauer can hit for AVG. and OBP. but his power is non existent and ill be shocked if he hits more than 10 HR's this year. With Danny Santana, Dozier, and Tori Hunter batting around him I believe he can bounce back and put up 70-80 runs and 70-80 RBI's? 4. Hughes went 8 innings of 2 run ball with 9 k's against the mariners in Seattle against king Felix. One encouraging factor was his control as 72 of his 96 pitches were thrown for strikes. Nelson Cruz tagged him but, he is back on the sauce/juice/anabolics/etc. If his next outing goes as well as this start than I may try to sell, unfortunately his next start is against DET who handled him earlier this year scoring 4 with 8 hits. Here is an update on my roster. I hope you got Hechavarria drw3722...He's red hot. Here is how my team looks like. I need to drop a 3B. Please note I have a NA slot so I do not need to drop Joe Wieland...I'm thinking of dropping Paredes when he gets cold and right now the only drop I see is Carlos Beltran... or Mike Moustakas / Aramis Ramirez... I can't see my selft dropping Guerro unless you can talk me into it. Alot of hype on waiting on Aramis Ramirez, so I should hold him and see what happens. 12 Teams | 12 Hitters Per Team [6 Active = HR RBI SB R BA OPS] | 15 Pitchers Per Team [6 Active = W ERA WHIP SO QS SnH] 1 | 3 | 2 | 1.57 | Felix Hernandez | | SEA | SP | 30 | | 205.5 | 160 | 68 | 63 | 46 | 219 | 16 | 2.75 | 14 | 1.00 | 22 | 0 | 1.52 | 2.29 | 2.77 | 2.24 | 1.31 | -0.70 | 1 | 7 | 4 | 1.36 | David Price | | DET | SP | 30 | | 216.1 | 201 | 73 | 67 | 34 | 208 | 18 | 2.79 | 14 | 1.09 | 22 | 0 | 1.61 | 2.28 | 1.68 | 1.99 | 1.28 | -0.70 | 2 | 15 | 7 | 1.04 | Madison Bumgarner | | SF | SP | 30 | | 195.1 | 163 | 73 | 67 | 49 | 199 | 19 | 3.09 | 13 | 1.09 | 21 | 0 | 1.32 | 1.12 | 1.54 | 1.80 | 1.15 | -0.70 | 5 | 56 | 27 | 0.44 | Masahiro Tanaka | | NYY | SP | 27 | | 175.6 | 168 | 72 | 66 | 37 | 169 | 20 | 3.39 | 11 | 1.17 | 18 | 0 | 0.77 | 0.17 | 0.51 | 1.14 | 0.78 | -0.70 | 7 | 77 | 39 | 0.31 | Julio Teheran | | ATL | SP | 30 | | 196.4 | 179 | 85 | 79 | 50 | 168 | 21 | 3.60 | 10 | 1.17 | 19 | 0 | 0.39 | -0.46 | 0.55 | 1.12 | 0.94 | -0.70 | 8 | 94 | 47 | 0.22 | Clay Buchholz | | BOS | SP | 29 | | 185.3 | 169 | 80 | 73 | 60 | 156 | 16 | 3.56 | 12 | 1.24 | 18 | 0 | 1.00 | -0.31 | -0.37 | 0.88 | 0.82 | -0.70 | 15 | 169 | 96 | -0.15 | Huston Street | | LAA | RP | 61 | | 61.4 | 46 | 25 | 23 | 14 | 57 | 6 | 3.37 | 4 | 0.98 | 0 | 35 | -1.38 | 0.08 | 0.91 | -1.27 | -1.31 | 2.06 | 16 | 188 | 106 | -0.19 | Joe Smith | | LAA | RP | 64 | | 64.1 | 48 | 23 | 21 | 17 | 60 | 4 | 2.95 | 5 | 1.01 | 0 | 21 | -0.97 | 0.51 | 0.84 | -1.22 | -1.31 | 0.99 | 19 | 220 | 126 | -0.30 | Adam Ottavino | | COL | RP | 61 | | 61.0 | 59 | 22 | 20 | 19 | 64 | 5 | 3.01 | 4 | 1.29 | 0 | 33 | -1.32 | 0.43 | -0.32 | -1.12 | -1.31 | 1.87 | 20 | 239 | 141 | -0.38 | Yimi Garcia | | LAD | RP | 58 | | 64.1 | 56 | 23 | 21 | 20 | 69 | 5 | 2.93 | 5 | 1.18 | 0 | 15 | -1.06 | 0.53 | 0.14 | -1.01 | -1.31 | 0.47 | 33 | 387 | 248 | -0.69 | Chris Hatcher | | LAD | RP | 51 | | 51.1 | 52 | 22 | 20 | 16 | 49 | 5 | 3.49 | 4 | 1.33 | 0 | 14 | -1.35 | -0.03 | -0.41 | -1.44 | -1.31 | 0.41 | 44 | 525 | 362 | -0.92 | Joe Wieland | Minor Leagues Projected Return 8/1/2015 | LAD | SP/RP | 17 | | 44.4 | 48 | 21 | 19 | 13 | 36 | 5 | 3.87 | 3 | 1.38 | 4 | 1 | -1.53 | -0.30 | -0.50 | -1.73 | -0.87 | -0.62

My team is listed below (hopefully i posted it correctly). My brother joined a keeper league and asked me for assistance this season. We joined an already established league that had 2 openings. The way the league works is each team is allowed 9 keepers which isn't restricted to position (ie. u can keep 9 batters if you so choose). The way the draft worked this year was our team, the other new team, and another owner who decided to not keep anyone, participated in a 9 round mini-draft in order to get our 9 players added and then we proceeded with the 16 round draft to round out the 25 player limit/requirement. The team consists of 25 players, 16 batters, 9 pitchers and you have to have so many innings pitched for the categories to count (5x5 roto). All 25 players count, no bench spots, you have to have 2 players for each position except OF which requires 5 and 1 DH (can be any position). The kicker here is we're only allowed to do 5 Permanent roster moves throughout the season but we can reserve players to replace a person on the DL (we don't drop the DL player just replace him for the time being and then drop the replacement player back after the DL person returns). Anyway, we're struggling with injuries (rendon, zobrist, gomes, and iwakuma) and wondering if we should make any permanent moves or just ride the wave and let it play out a few more weeks. We're in dead last place and will likely end up "punting" the season at some point and try to pick up an up-and-comer to possibly add to our keeper list for next year. We added Ruiz for the injured gomes but will drop him back when gomes returns. Other options are: hundley, Realmuto, and Suzuki We added LeMahieu for the Rendon, we're playing Rendon at 2b and will drop him if/when Rendon makes his debut. Other options are : Valbuena Here's what we need now: We need to add a replacement for Zobrist at SS. Hechavarria is out there as is crawford, cozart, iglesias. We're looking at maybe adding Teixeira as a permanent replacement and dropping Beltran (last pick of the draft and our DH which is where we'd add Teixeira since martinez/morneau are at 1b) or Adam Eaton. At pitcher we need to replace Iwakuma and possibly doing another PRM to replace Lohse as he just sucks. Possible options at SP : Hendricks, Colon (i cant even believe i'm suggesting him), Haren, Greene, DeScalfani, Garza, Graveman, Simon, lincecum) Basically we're looking for input from you guys.. Do we burn a PRM this early for teixeira and drop beltran? Do we do a DL replacement for a few weeks for Iwakuma and who do we choose ? Do we cut ties w/ the turd Lohse and add another SP with a PRM? @ohhale "We added Ruiz for the injured gomes but will drop him back when gomes returns. Other options are: hundley, Realmuto, and Suzuki" - I would go with Hundley. "We added LeMahieu for the Rendon, we're playing Rendon at 2b and will drop him if/when Rendon makes his debut. Other options are : Valbuena" -Tough one...I will go with Valbuena he is turning things up. "We need to add a replacement for Zobrist at SS. Hechavarria is out there as is crawford, cozart, iglesias." -I like riding hot streaks with Hechavarria but I feel Iglesias is the right move. "We're looking at maybe adding Teixeira as a permanent replacement and dropping Beltran (last pick of the draft and our DH which is where we'd add Teixeira since martinez/morneau are at 1b) or Adam Eaton. " -Beltran has been a nightmare last year for me and this year and currently 30% SO is no good. I'm dropping him end of week if he can't change things around. He does bat 3RD but not at this rate. I will go with the hot hitting Teixeira if you can't wait. You can also hold Beltran and drop Chase since he's probably going to retire. At pitcher we need to replace Iwakuma and possibly doing another PRM to replace Lohse as he just sucks. Possible options at SP : Hendricks, Colon (i cant even believe i'm suggesting him), Haren, Greene, DeScalfani, Garza, Graveman, Simon, lincecum) -I'm going to do a PRM move in favor of DeScalfani over Lohse and use a replacement on Simon till Iwakuma comes back. GOOD LUCK 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Thanks for the feedback. We can do moves Thursday and Sunday so we'll likely wait until Sunday. I didn't realize that he already pulled the trigger on Simon..so we have simon filling in for iwakuma. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
jyang61107 -I pulled the trigger on Hech and the first day i slotted him into the lineup he goes 0-3 and snaps his 10 or 11 game hit streak...I may have waited too long to jump on board that hot streak and to make matters worse someone else snagged up Owings and Lowrie...FML -I am fully invested in Guerrero in all 3 of my leagues. I have no business acquiring OF due to other positions who need attention, but i couldn't allow anyone else to have this monster. If Uribe keeps his old ass warm on the bench we can get some 3B eligibility than you will really need to drop a 3B. Also he is only 2B eligible in ESPN so if Howie Kendrick has an injury will he fill in? -As far as your 3B circumstance I would ride out Parades hot streak until the wheels fall off or Baltimore burns to the ground from rioters....too soon? Than drop as soon as he comes back to earth. I would not drop Aramis just yet he has a good enough track record to warrant patience, but If this were June I would be calling the punt team with you. dropping moose doesnt sit well with me either and I owned Beltran last year so you have my full clearance of setting him free. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
@ohhale ?First I want to welcome you to nerd central. (yes my wife makes fun of me constantly and hates fantasy baseball, im divorcing her...jk) Since jyang61107 replies in bold ill reply in Itallic. also ill apologize in advance for my vulgarity and downright rudness. "We added Ruiz for the injured gomes but will drop him back when gomes returns. Other options are: hundley, Realmuto, and Suzuki" -Go with Hundley, Why? Rocky Mountain High Baby and look at that offense he plays in. "We added LeMahieu for the Rendon, we're playing Rendon at 2b and will drop him if/when Rendon makes his debut. Other options are : Valbuena" -Valbuena isn't a bad option especially batting in the top of the order of a surprisingly good offense. "We need to add a replacement for Zobrist at SS. Hechavarria is out there as is crawford, cozart, iglesias." -I like Cozart in this move I read an interesting article on Fangraphs pertaining to his offseason work on his swing. Its looking like they may have fixed him for now and quite possibly for good. Oh and he bats in the 2 hold in between Billy Hamilton and some guy named Joey. "We're looking at maybe adding Teixeira as a permanent replacement and dropping Beltran (last pick of the draft and our DH which is where we'd add Teixeira since martinez/morneau are at 1b) or Adam Eaton. " -Tex is a great option if you need the power and can handle his ehhhh .avg, but if your other option is Eaton then there is no question or doubt about it I snag Eaton over Tex in every league. If you're reluctant of grabbing eat due to his slow start he hit 2 triples last week and had a .380 avg so its safe to say he is heating up along with his giant Cuban that cleans up for him Jose. At pitcher we need to replace Iwakuma and possibly doing another PRM to replace Lohse as he just sucks. Possible options at SP : Hendricks, Colon (i cant even believe i'm suggesting him), Haren, Greene, DeScalfani, Garza, Graveman, Simon, lincecum) -Keeper league? Go get DeScalfani right now!!! Yes Colon is having a great year, but he is 40-41 and has been busted for PED's before so it wouldn't surprise me if he is still on the sauce. DeScalfani is your guy! 100% Agree (2 votes) |
Looks like I need to trade off any 1B and a 3B or drop Travis d'Arnaud? since I don't really need 2 C. I would probably use that to put Tanaka on the DL along with Ottavino. Or I can drop Ottavino instead and keep Travis. Here is how we are looking and going strong. NA SLOT - Javier Baez...Will be switching for a sleeper SP, any suggestion on some prospect or strong arms that I can add or look for? Daniel Norris is my streaming spot and might hold him if he does well enough. 12 Teams | 12 Hitters Per Team [6 Active = HR RBI SB R BA OPS] | 15 Pitchers Per Team [6 Active = W ERA WHIP SO QS SnH] 3 | 28 | 15 | 0.74 | Joey Votto | Not in lineup - Joey Votto is not in the Reds starting lineup Wednesday. | CIN | 1B | 128 | 4/29/2015 8:50 AM Joey Votto is not in the Reds starting lineup Wednesday.

Pitching Prospect to switch to: Julio Urias - dude is a stud...If he is taken then a sleeper with massive upside is Steven Matz 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Thanks Holty85 for the tip...But I need some prospect that would be called up soon to start the rest of way in place of injured SP right now...Any thoughts? FYI - I'm not in a keeper league. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Both of those prospects have chances to pitch this year...the pure stuff of urias will be hard for the Dodgers to keep out of the rotation even if he is 19/20 y/o -- hes that good -- I wouldn't expect to see him before July though. Where as Metz doesn't have as high of a ceiling as Urias but will be up before him(he's still very good though). He's in AAA & took a no hitter into the 7th in the very hitter friendly PCL last week. I could see him up perhaps by the end of May. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Thanks Holty85 I'll have them on my watch list... Now this is the hard part...I need to get rid of 1 DL player... Travis d'Arnaud, Masahiro Tanaka? or Adam Ottavino?. Such hard choices but I'm leaning on cutting Travis even with his upside. But closers are a dime in a dozen in my league since we count SnH so I might not need him. Hard to part with Tanaka until I know he's done...Thoughts? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
If it's not a keeper I dump Tanaka if I were you. No way that dude finishes the season with the timebomb that is his elbow. 0% Agree (1 vote) |
But he is my hero....I'll wait 1 more day and hopefully hear something of it. But yes he would be my drop after some thought too. I got him on my 18th pick sigh... 0% Agree (0 votes) |
hahahah can't win leagues if you are emotionally attached ;) 0% Agree (0 votes) |
What?!? No, you absolutely do not drop Tanaka. He's could be back in as little as 2 weeks (already started 5 days into his 15) and they specifically checked his elbow and found no problems. D'Arnaud is the ~21st catcher on the list (even per game). If it's not a keeper league there is no reason to hold on to him (he was barely worth drafting in the first place). 0% Agree (1 vote) |
I'm not sure why everyone goes so batty when it comes to Tanaka. The pinstripes I suppose. Wainwright pitched for 5 years with a partially torn UCL. Something like 40% of all starting pitchers are pitching right now with a torn UCL. You can't predict when it will pop, and until it does Tanaka is going to be one of the better pitchers in baseball. Regardless of your feelings on Tanaka, D'Arnaud serves absolutely no purpose on this roster. I'm not sure I understand your league settings TBH. How/why do you have all of those rookies if it's not a keeper league? You might be better served with a deeper pitching staff that would allow you to pick and choose starts, rather than having to run them out every day regardless of opponent. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
descender? really? LOL a small tear in the UCL does not equate to no problems. The Yankees F'd up bigtime not just biting the bullet this offseason and getting him TJ...without question you drop Tanaka that dude is done...I'm guaranteeing you he will be back on the DL again this year 0% Agree (1 vote) |
I'm not sure why you think that is a well reasoned argument. When the doctors all say don't get surgery, you don't just flip them off and get it anyway. They did a new MRI yesterday and it showed no change in the UCL tear. D'Arnaud should never crack his lineup at any point and it's not a keeper league, why not get whatever you can out of Tanaka when he comes back next month? It really doesn't even matter if he goes back on the DL, the 40-50AB's D'Arnaud might get in his lineup on off-days can be replaced pretty easily. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
I know I'm right & I'll back it up....let's make a wager...$100 says Tanaka lands back on the DL again this year...payable via paypal 0% Agree (1 vote) |
I'm not interested in your medical advice or your wager. D'Arnaud (and Baez really) can be dropped without even blinking at the pitching staff. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
hahahah you can't back up what you say...lame man...let's make the wager...I'll look fwd to my $100 from you 0% Agree (0 votes) |
If you are so sure the small tear is of no concern then man up and take the wager...you won't because you know it's indeed a concern. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
You are completely missing the point of what I have said here holty, go back and read it again. It does not matter if Tanaka goes back on the DL, no matter how much you want him to. That doesn't need to factor in this decision until jyang is out of DL spots that are useful. Holding on to D'Arnaud in a DL spot is not useful to him in any way whatsoever, so you drop him. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
In the end I dropped Travis... Too little SP in my league since I got the good ones and everyone is competing to get them. I have 6 managers streaming SP every day and thanks to daily projections I'm able to grab the better one first 1 hr to the next day haha. Here is how I am looking now. My weak spot is SS and it looks like I just have to ride that one out and hope for a hot player comes up. Streaming 1 SP ( TOM KOEHLER ) and looking to trade a 1B and 3B for RP since it might be easier. Maybe trade off Alex Guerrero too. Hey guys here is my updated team. Clay Buchholz got cut from my team. I'm looking to make a trade of Matt Adams / Ryan Braun for Matt Holliday / Craig Kimbrel... Hoping that works out. Streaming Drew Pomeranz and other SP projected with Wins & Quality Starts above z-score 2. I have enough ERA/WHIP to take any of those hits. Hoping Billy Burns to be a track star and he's hitting average and getting on base which is good. Still riding Paredes till his wheels goes off and great at the 2ND hole. SS takes : Zack Cozart and Jean Segura at 2ND hole, just seeing what they can fetch me as there is nothing better out there. Alex Guerrero would likely be my drop later on or included in a trade deal. Any thing else I should worry about? Once again I appreciate everyone feedback on improving my knowledge of FANTASY MLB... Thank you and currently riding rank 4 of 12. 12 Teams | 12 Hitters Per Team [6 Active = HR RBI SB R BA OPS] | 15 Pitchers Per Team [6 Active = W ERA WHIP SO QS SnH] 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Here is an update: I made a trade that I feel would limit my risk reward. I gave up Victor Martinez / Jimmy Parades / Julio Teheran for Yoenis Cespedes / Anibal Sanchez / Denard Span. I like Span and hoping Cespedes will continue turning it up. I have 3 1B so I should get rid of 1 which I felt Martinez is a injury risk for me and so far underperforming a lot. Julio and Anibal are both struggling but I like DET over ATL. Getting rid of hot hitting Parades is what the doctor order...Sell HIGH...although he is getting ample playing time might push him better than Span or Cespedes... What are your thoughts on my trade? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Another update: Glad the trade went through and flipped Yoenis Cespedes / Felix Hernandez for Mike Trout ...I'm hoping you guys approve of that as I'm thinking this would make my ROTO team a winner. Here is how my team is looking now where I'm streaming...Shane Greene...Clay Bucholz...Should I hold those 2 and drop Trevor Plouffe and Ender Inciarte....What are your thoughts ? 12 Teams | 12 Hitters Per Team [6 Active = HR RBI SB R BA OPS] | 15 Pitchers Per Team [6 Active = W ERA WHIP SO QS SnH] 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Decided to try a H2H league... Here is what I came out with...Anything I should look for or trade for? 14 Teams | 10 Hitters Per Team [5 Active = HR RBI SB R BA] | 13 Pitchers Per Team [5 Active = W SV ERA WHIP SO] 0% Agree (0 votes) |
This looks like a good start. Are daily lineup changes allowed or just weekly? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Daily lineup changes are allowed...up to max 6 transactions a week...I'm guessing you would want me to stream certain players here based on the H2H weekly tool... How should I set the H2H weekly tool to analysis the matchups? Per-Game or Total Value? Also one fantastic strategy that can come in hand is the minimum inning pitch is 10....I'm guessing that is not standard? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
I would use the weekly H2H at the start of the week to get a feel for where you stand. Set the Value Type to totals since that's what's being compared for the week's wins/losses. I'm guessing most of those six transactions will be pitchers since hitters tend to play most days. To find the best starters, you can use the Daily Projections, and I also like to use the Ease Rankings, viewing the past two weeks, to see which teams are easiest for pitchers over that period. https://baseballmonster.com/EaseRankings.aspx 100% Agree (1 vote) |
Updates on ROTO team: The trade for Trout is a done deal...Streaming Jesse Hahn and holding out on Wright...Will drop Wright if there is no news on him sticking or should I stream another pitcher with him? We have 2 players on the wire with good projections above 150...Justin Morneau and Aramis Ramirez...Should I drop Wright for either of them or grab both and just not stream the pitchers? I'm behind my innings pitch so I have an extra 50 innings to use. Thoughts? The EASE is working out great with the 2 week projections...I should have used that from the start...Paying off for sure. 12 Teams | 12 Hitters Per Team [6 Active = HR RBI SB R BA OPS] | 15 Pitchers Per Team [6 Active = W ERA WHIP SO QS SnH] 1 | 2 | 1 | 1.71 | Mike Trout | | LAA | OF | 120 | | 473 | 81 | 139 | 75 | 72 | 137 | 0.295 | 28 | 22 | 0.946 | 1.98 | 1.28 | 1.38 | 1.96 | 0.94 | 2.73 | 3 | 34 | 19 | 0.74 | Ryan Braun | | MIL | OF | 111 | | 443 | 71 | 125 | 71 | 42 | 99 | 0.282 | 22 | 10 | 0.847 | 1.14 | 0.96 | 0.13 | 0.93 | 0.33 | 0.97 | 4 | 39 | 21 | 0.58 | Joey Votto | | CIN | 1B | 112 | | 407 | 64 | 120 | 67 | 83 | 93 | 0.294 | 17 | 7 | 0.901 | 0.31 | 0.61 | -0.16 | 0.25 | 0.78 | 1.69 | 7 | 80 | 42 | 0.27 | Charlie Blackmon | | COL | OF | 108 | | 454 | 74 | 132 | 44 | 22 | 86 | 0.290 | 13 | 20 | 0.775 | -0.23 | -1.20 | 1.22 | 1.30 | 0.70 | -0.18 | 8 | 89 | 47 | 0.22 | Denard Span | | WAS | OF | 107 | | 469 | 72 | 145 | 47 | 36 | 50 | 0.309 | 5 | 19 | 0.794 | -1.54 | -0.99 | 1.04 | 1.06 | 1.62 | 0.13 | 11 | 125 | 60 | 0.01 | Melky Cabrera | | CHW | OF | 114 | | 484 | 69 | 143 | 60 | 39 | 51 | 0.296 | 10 | 2 | 0.762 | -0.72 | 0.03 | -0.67 | 0.82 | 1.01 | -0.41 | 13 | 152 | 68 | -0.09 | Lorenzo Cain | | KC | OF | 112 | | 452 | 55 | 128 | 62 | 29 | 101 | 0.283 | 7 | 24 | 0.730 | -1.25 | 0.19 | 1.63 | -0.59 | 0.35 | -0.90 | 18 | 205 | 85 | -0.27 | Mike Moustakas | | KC | 3B | 118 | | 480 | 62 | 131 | 53 | 30 | 71 | 0.272 | 16 | 5 | 0.748 | 0.10 | -0.53 | -0.44 | 0.10 | -0.17 | -0.65 | 18 | 207 | 86 | -0.27 | Chris Carter | | HOU | 1B/OF | 111 | | 416 | 61 | 90 | 62 | 53 | 163 | 0.215 | 26 | 4 | 0.753 | 1.67 | 0.25 | -0.49 | -0.02 | -2.54 | -0.49 | 19 | 225 | 93 | -0.33 | Matt Adams | | STL | 1B | 102 | | 398 | 52 | 110 | 62 | 22 | 93 | 0.277 | 13 | 2 | 0.758 | -0.25 | 0.21 | -0.69 | -0.93 | 0.07 | -0.40 | 32 | 381 | 131 | -0.68 | Brian McCann | | NYY | C | 102 | | 380 | 50 | 92 | 52 | 26 | 64 | 0.241 | 19 | 0 | 0.726 | 0.66 | -0.56 | -0.92 | -1.13 | -1.32 | -0.82 | 45 | 540 | 165 | -0.94 | Zack Cozart | | CIN | SS | 121 | | 489 | 58 | 121 | 43 | 28 | 80 | 0.248 | 10 | 12 | 0.664 | -0.75 | -1.33 | 0.29 | -0.34 | -1.38 | -2.15 | 61 | 725 | 223 | -1.37 | Alex Guerrero | | LAD | OF | 81 | | 246 | 25 | 64 | 27 | 13 | 54 | 0.261 | 11 | 1 | 0.760 | -0.68 | -2.54 | -0.85 | -3.57 | -0.36 | -0.22 | 62 | 735 | 233 | -1.45 | Brad Miller | | SEA | 2B/SS | 94 | | 291 | 32 | 71 | 27 | 26 | 64 | 0.243 | 9 | 4 | 0.712 | -0.97 | -2.61 | -0.46 | -2.93 | -0.94 | -0.77 | 64 | 761 | 257 | -1.62 | Jon Singleton | | HOU | 1B | 56 | | 164 | 20 | 40 | 21 | 27 | 50 | 0.242 | 7 | 1 | 0.778 | -1.22 | -3.06 | -0.80 | -4.08 | -0.55 | -0.04 | 79 | 939 | 434 | -2.20 | Delino DeShields | | TEX | 2B | 46 | | 71 | 4 | 17 | 3 | 7 | 20 | 0.241 | 1 | 6 | 0.657 | -2.17 | -4.48 | -0.33 | -5.66 | -0.25 | -0.32

Back to the H2H team: Guy offer me Andrew McCutchen for my Dexter Fowler & Matt Carpenter...Do I take it now? I'm just worry about his ailing knee... Here is how my team is looking. 14 Teams | 10 Hitters Per Team [5 Active = HR RBI SB R BA] | 13 Pitchers Per Team [5 Active = W SV ERA WHIP SO] 0% Agree (0 votes) |
H2H team: Looks like the guy cancel the McCutchen trade but another manager offer me this and I took it...Let me know if I did good. Giancarlo Stanton / Evan Gattis / Phil Hughes / Victor Martinez for my Adrian Gonzales / Matt Holliday / Miguel Gonzales / Derek Norris... Here is how my team look now...which you can compare to the below post. 14 Teams | 10 Hitters Per Team [5 Active = HR RBI SB R BA] | 13 Pitchers Per Team [5 Active = W SV ERA WHIP SO] 100% Agree (2 votes) |

This would have to be my best H2H team that I was able to draft and trade with projections on the high's and low's. Thanks to BBM for that and Ken's great work. I manage to snag Carlos Gomez / Justin Morneau / Marcell Ozuna for my Matt Carpenter / Dexter Fowler / Joakim Soria... I was really leading in Saves through projections and Carpenter and Fowler values didn't help much for my stacked team already. I needed Power and Speed and I got it with Gomez and hoping Morneau is OK will provide me a rooster spot for 1B and moving Miggy to 3RD... Here is how I fared...Feel free to leave your thoughts and suggestions on how I can improve this team...Other than that, thumbs up if you think its a C-H-A-M-P-I-O-N-S-H-I-P Team. FYI ... BBM has me for the season at 80% chance of winning... Thank you much all and I will be streaming SP weekly based on 2 Weeks projections of teams...Thank you Ken for noting that... 14 Teams | 10 Hitters Per Team [5 Active = HR RBI SB R BA] | 13 Pitchers Per Team [5 Active = W SV ERA WHIP SO] 100% Agree (1 vote) |
Hello guys, Almost half the season is over for this ROTO league...I'm sitting at number 4 thanks to all your advice and insight. There is where I am now...Im considering swapping Carter for Calhoun and Gallo for Lindor... Maybe take out Rondon for Will Smith...(Not the celebrity)...Thoughts guys? 12 Teams | 12 Hitters Per Team [6 Active = HR RBI SB R BA OPS] | 15 Pitchers Per Team [6 Active = W ERA WHIP SO QS SnH] 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Here is how much H2H team looks like after I did some trades...Unfortunately I traded up on Gomez before his downgrade... I made some serious moves and hopefully this will do it for the season. Trout / Votto / Burns for Goldy / Dozier... Kole Calhoun for Fernando Rodney... This gives me room to use Bryd / Paulsen / Peralta and possibly Xander for streaming options for the hot hand. Thoughts? Here we go guys. Sitting at 5th...12 team ROTO... Playing my SP on good daily projections and basing on 2 weeks of ease on teams in a slump. Should I be looking for Z-Score of over 1.00? Streaming the CI spot and OF spot...Right now I have 2 hot hitters Justin Bour and Marlon Bryd here...Until someone comes out of the blue... Ceaser Herandez is my waiver pick up 2 weeks ago and he's putting up great numbers for me...Rotating him as a position filler. Thoughts on my team? I think I finally finish trading for now. 12 Teams | 12 Hitters Per Team [6 Active = HR RBI SB R BA OPS] | 15 Pitchers Per Team [6 Active = W ERA WHIP SO QS SnH] 0% Agree (0 votes) |

Here is an update to the 12 team ROTO league...sitting at 2ND with 10 points behind 1ST and 10 points ahead of 3RD. I have Trevor Plouffe avaliable on waivers...I have 2 extra SP in my team which I probably do not need. Do I drop Justin Bour...Eduardo Rodriguez...or Patrick Corbin... Thank you as always BBM community. 12 Teams | 12 Hitters Per Team [6 Active = HR RBI SB R BA OPS] | 15 Pitchers Per Team [6 Active = W ERA WHIP SO QS SnH] 0% Agree (0 votes) |
I would hold Bour for a few more weeks until Stanton returns, but either of those starters can go. Otherwise, the remainder of your roster looks good. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
